Un cordial saludos amigos de WOX, esta semana tuve varias sesiones de fotografías de acercamiento con mi celular. Una de ellas con una muy inquieta “mantis religiosa” que logré llevar a mi estudio.
A cordial greeting to my friends at WOX. This week I had several close-up photo sessions with my cell phone. One of them was with a very restless “praying mantis” that I managed to take to my studio.

Aunque las fotos que obtuve no me parecieron buenas, pues les faltaba nitidez y manejé mal la iluminación, decidí aprovecharlas y convertirlas en arte a través de la post edición. Me alegra haberlo hecho y acá les presento los resultados.
Although the photos I got did not seem good to me, as they lacked sharpness and I managed the lighting poorly, I decided to take advantage of them and turn them into art through post-editing. I am glad I did and here I present the results.

Se trata de una mantis religiosa de unos 3 centímetros de longitud. Me gustaron sus colores entre ocres, negros y naranjas. La atrapé en el jardín y la llevé al estudio colocándola dentro de un envase semiesférico, para controlar así su movilidad.
It is a praying mantis about 3 centimeters long. I liked its colors between ochre, black and orange. I caught it in the garden and took it to the studio, placing it inside a semi-spherical container, to control its mobility.

Procedimiento | The procedure
Cómo dije más arriba no obtuve los resultados que esperaba con las fotos, deseché aquellas que se encontraban muy movidas y desenfocadas queriendo rescatar la sesión.
As I said above, I did not get the results I expected with the photos, I discarded those that were too blurry and out of focus, wanting to rescue the session.

Recurrí a Adobe Lightroom, con el objetivo de darle un tono más artístico, para ello modifiqué los valores de blancos, esto los llevó a tonos más azules que complementaban con los ocres de la mantis, busqué resaltar sus texturas, y aparecieron interesantes sombras en cada foto.
I turned to Adobe Lightroom, with the aim of giving it a more artistic tone, so I modified the white values, which led to bluer tones that complemented the ochres of the mantis. I tried to highlight its textures, and interesting shadows appeared in each photo.

Lo genial de esta sesión | The great thing about this session
Ahora me siento orgulloso, le di una atmosfera casi mística a las fotos y las sombras que aparecieron, les añaden profundidad y dramatismo. Transformé esas fotos de baja calidad en obras de arte, llenas de encanto y misterio.
Now I feel proud, I gave an almost mystical atmosphere to the photos and the shadows that appeared add depth and drama. I transformed those low-quality photos into works of art, full of charm and mystery.
