Drawing with chalk III (#club100)
Hi friends!
As I have mentioned in previous posts, I used 200gr kraft paper, but you can use slightly thinner or thicker paper.
Kraft paper is light brown in color which helps us achieve a medium tone to start drawing or painting. Thus it is easy to go towards the light points or towards the darker tones from the brown colour of the paper, as oil painters do when tinting the canvas with some colour before starting to paint.
These are the chalk colours that I have used to draw. You can see that I use stick chalk and pencil chalk as well. The important thing is to always use dry chalk, not greasy colors.
With a brown colour, I drew the head and its main features.
Then, using kitchen paper, I "erase" the entire drawing to obtain this effect bellow.
Then I applied the colours and which I mix with my fingers.
As the result of several applications of chalk colours and mixing them to obtain a skin colour, this is the final study drawing for a bearded male human head.
