Writing an Episodic Novel Day 6
I got up. Wrote for 2 solid hours. It was a piece of work for a client. 2,000 words that made sense. By 7:30, I was done and it felt good.
Then I had a cup of coffee, went to an exercise class, the grocery store, and to the Monday afternoon bridge club. I was home by 3:15 and my bandwidth was back so here I am.
If I can write 2,000 words in 2 hours and they are good words, why have I been such a ninny about writing my story. Aha. I will tell you, now that I know. I am not sure how it ends.
Step Two - Find the Ending
I do have Episode One almost done. 7,000 words and a new opening planned. It will be a while before I get to the ending but I must know where I am heading with the story.
I'm going out again tonight but I plan to sit down at 5:30 tomorrow morning and finish Episode One. Episode Two is already being formed.

That is great to get 2k done in 2 hours! Yes, not knowing the ending can be a stumbling block. Good luck, Joanne! And I admire you (or maybe think you're crazy?!) getting up so early! (I'm a night owl, so I'll go with crazy!)
I'm an early morning person. I always loved those hours when the world is quiet.
You're a busy lady. Yes, sometimes it's easier to write for a client than to write our own stuff. I think that's partly because we have made a non-negotiable commitment to a deadline and partly because the topic is usually less emotional. It takes more gumption and dedication to write our own stuff. Good luck with it.
