#LivingElSalvador. Preparing My Own BANANA LEAVES For COOKING.

in #dtube6 years ago

I am so excited that I can use my own banana leaves for making tamales, which is so cool because when I was living in Canada, I had to look for frozen banana leaves in certain stores which didn't have them many times.

The banana leaves were pretty hard to find where I lived, so I feel grateful that now I can have and use my own banana leaves to make some tamales.

Now the banana leaves are ready to put them in the freezer and when I am ready to make some tamales, I will have the leaves nice and ready and don't have to go and buy any more banana leaves, which were sometimes pretty hard to find when I lived in Canada.

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday and wish you all a wonderful weekend.
Love @joalvarez

I am a great supporter of @familyprotection who is working very hard to help the families stay together and this project is the most amazing project that I would suggest for everyone on this steemit community to check it out and support it and by doing it we are helping people in need who are trying to keep their kids safe from being taken away (kidnapped) by the Social Services. I am also a part of one of the most amazing projects here on steemit and that is @gratefulvibes project where you can also join @gratefulvibes Discord chat group, where we support the newcomers and just have an amazing time.

Lovely that you have access to fresh banana leaves.
I too live in Canada and was growing a banana tree in my sunroom. I was hoping for some fruit but it never happened, just kept making baby bananna trees.
Maybe I'll cut some of their leaves and use them in tamales
Thanks for sharing!

That is pretty cool.
You must live in one of those warmer parts of Canada since I only have seen banana trees in Vancouver or in the Okanagan and like you said they don't have the fruit but just the tree itself looks so pretty.

Have a lovely weekend @porters and thank you for your lovely visit.

No I live in a very cold part of canada but I grow my banana plant in the sun room.

Very interesting I have never eaten tamales as far as I know, I look forward to seeing the rest of the process @joalvarez

Yes. I don't think tamales are known in Europe and even in North America.
They are made by latino people but I also heard of tamales in the Philippines but I think they are quite different.
One day I will show the whole process of how to make them. I shared the process long time ago when my mother-in-law and I were making them, but I have never actually tried making them myself, so that will be on one of my posts.

nice work 👌👌
