Dog hair - Freewrite

"If you don't clean out the lint trap one day the house is going to burn down".

I can't count how many times I had told him this.

Nevertheless, every single time I put my clothes in the dryer the lint trap is absolutely full to the brim.

It's like pulling out a wool jacket each time.

Thursday was no exception.

Mitzy was barking like mad that morning.

I'd gotten up extra early because we were supposed to be really busy that day.

I must have woken Ash up as well because he came downstairs holding a giant load of dirty laundry.

As I was walking out the door to head to work I yelled out quickly

"Hey..... Lint trap!!"

He nodded at me knowingly.

We have four dogs and four cats.

Mitzy is my dog. A long haired Golden Retriever.

There is also Artemis, Harold, and Steve.

Boston Terrier, Dachshund, Australian Ridgeback.

Needless to say.....there's a lot of hair at our house and it requires quite a bit of sweeping, dusting, and mopping to stay clean.

Work was really busy that Thursday but I was only there for about 4 hours.

Something was nagging at me the whole time and at some point I actually stopped what I was doing and put my hands down in an exasperated fashion.

"Freaking Lint Trap." I thought to myself.

As I headed home from work I stopped in the grocery store to grab a frozen pizza.

Pulling into the driveway I couldn't help but notice a small fire in the back of the house.

As I ran inside I noticed Artemis and Mitzy sitting over a small pile of logs.

"How many times have I told you guys that you can't roast weenies in the kitchen?"

Stupid dogs. I bought that toaster oven specifically for cooking weenies.

I guess you really can't teach an old dog new tricks.
