Today I am going to share with you how I spent the Sinhala and Tamil New Year day which is a very special day for Sri Lankans.

I woke up earlier than usual this morning because I had a lot of work to do.
Yesterday night I put the kids to sleep and did all the cleaning and went to bed, so I was very relieved.

For the New Year we use auspicious times to cook food, eat food and start other activities. So the first thing we do is to pour milk and wish prosperity to the country and everyone.

So I also did the cleaning work and got ready for the work. In the meantime, the children woke up and were waiting to see the work very eagerly.

Today I missed my husband a lot.
Due to the nature of his work, I miss special days and special occasions.

Then the good time came so we boiled the milk and got ready to eat. I also got the support of my daughter to prepare the New Year dinner table.

The dining table was decorated with srilankan traditional sweet. This new year is really special for me. Because this is the first new year celebrated in my own house.
Then we ate at the auspicious time and performed other rituals.

Today I was free from the usual work and was free with the children.

After that, lunch was prepared. For that, chicken curry, dhal curry and eggplant pickle with fried rice were prepared. The children enjoyed the meal very much.

After that, we all took a short break. In the afternoon, the children took a short nap and I also watched a movie.

At tea time in the evening, we ate oil cake, kokis and drank coffee.
After that, I went out with my son and walked a bit. My son liked it very much. Today was a holiday and there were no vahicals on the road.

After coming home, worshiped Buddha and prepared dinner.

After dinner, I sent the two children to sleep and I logged on to steemit to complete my half-edited post.
