Team 3 Curators - Curation Guidelines (1).png

Greetings dear Steemians. This first week we have started our curation activity with the Steemcurator06 account, starting on Friday the 1st and ending on Thursday the 8th of September.

It has been a new experience for the members of the team, since it supposes a certain freedom to be able to explore through all the publications without more limits than those imposed by the basic requirements.

This first week we have been able to vote for a total of 164 posts that we consider to be of good quality.

To find the publications, we explored various tags, languages, and countries, so we were able to cover a wide spectrum of tags.

This is our first week and we found no relevant comments, however, we have made the necessary adjustments internally so that our performance in the area of feedback voting is better in this coming week.

We have been able to unite our efforts and each member of the team has given their best, I think that as we progress we will do much better.

Now we will show the statistics of this first week.

Stats:

Tags

This first week we have been able to cover 33 tags, although the Diary game appears in the first place with 46 posts, if we take this to percentages, 46 posts represent 28% of the 164 posts.

This means that we have covered 72% in the rest of the tags. Lifestyle, Creativewriting, Travel and Fintech are the tags that follow.

Country

We have covered a total of 23 countries, Venezuela heads the list with 46 positions, representing 28%. Indonesia follows with 22 posts, which represents 13.41%.

Clubs

As for the clubs, club5050 received the most votes with 40.24%, followed by club100 and club75 with similar percentages.

Comments from our team:

Friday September 2

@harferri

The new curation rule (not focusing on specific hashtags) gave me the opportunity to search for quality posts more broadly, the initiative led me to some communities I rarely visited.

My first day curation experience found very few posts with custom themes. Diary Game dominates with photo quality and an increasingly attractive writing style.

Diversity of themes with quality posts really needs to be encouraged to attract new users from various circles. I'll be continuing this assignment next week to support quality posts on various themes with Team mates.

Thank you

@simonnwigwe

During my curation, I notice a few things with content creators as well as the moderators and I will be listing a few of them below.

Most users accumulate lots of liquid steem in their wallet without powering it up. I was able to drop a comment on most of such posts asking the users to power up and stand the chance to get a vote from us.

Some users make posts without including their country's tag which increases my work by trying to trace which country exactly they are writing from.

Moderators, sometimes don't check posts properly, hence they don't tend to advise the user on the club status issues, use of spelling checker and using free images. I have addressed a few cases in this regard via a comment tagging the moderator.

User needs to understand better how to calculate their club status because I have also addressed a case where the user is in club100 but has been using club75 and the moderator keeps recording club75

Sunday 4, and Monday 5 of September

@inspiracion

Because we are a team of 5 curators, we have organized 5 fixed days and 2 rotating days. This week I coincided in two healing days: Sunday and Monday.

During these two days I was looking for publications through the various categories available. What I was able to observe is that many tags had no recent posts, and those that did were few, however, I was still able to find quality posts in each category reviewed.

Note that many authors are not making good use of relevant tags, and I believe that tags are the tool that allows us to find posts in general whether or not they are in communities, including country and language tags.

So I ask the authors to make appropriate use of the first 5 tags, which are the ones that order the content within the platform and make it visible.

Many authors when reviewing them, are not making use of 100% of their voting power, this we already know is common, and some of them do not reach 70 votes per week.

In terms of quality, many posts that could be good, with great photos, lacked text, which would have complemented those posts nicely.

My goal for the day was to find good posts that hadn't received support for one reason or another, but note that many good posts now get some support from SCs.

In general, the experience was positive since I had the opportunity to give an overview of the Steemit platform.

Tuesday September 6

@lavanyalakshman

This is my first day of experience with curation responsibility.

I get a lot of quality and active authors from this, but a lot of them don't help other users and only vote for themselves.That's why I skip those people for giving support.

Most active users are already receiving more than two supports from other curation teams; however, identifying users who are not receiving that much support this week took a long time.

Due to my emotions,I dig users using my account first. Then, after filtering and checking other things using curator account, I give support, along with filling in all the details in our spread sheet too.

If I see any quality post , without thinking, I will give my support, but here we give support to those who do not get that much here. They also need to check their voting CSI. If I dig with a curator account, there is a high chance of getting support first, then checking the remaining. That's why I'm avoiding using the curator account for these needs.

I only use curator account for supporting and leaving curation-related messages.

One thing I notice is that, at present lot of active users are getting support frequently and following all guidelines perfectly. I am so happy to see it. It will increase the quality of the STEEM platform.

Today I read a lot of users' diaries, mostly they attract mine. But I try my best to find other categories too.

Thanks for this opportunity.

@simonnwigwe

Today's curation was very nice. I was able to curate a total of 25 articles. Though I saw a lot of posts which have been curated and many that are left uncurated didn't meet the requirement. I saw a lot of quality pictures but they didn't have the required number of words.

Another thing I got a bit confused with is the voting of comments because in the steemworld site, it will show that these users have received more votes whereas we only voted for comments. I voted on one comment and then I noticed it so I stop.

@chiabertrand

This week was my first week of curation and I must say it was a fantastic experience going through several communities, #tags, and blogs searching for quality contents to heal

It was an amazing tour as I was able to visit and support a lot of content from these various communities. However, I faced some challenges because going through several communities, I discovered a lot of users don't longer take time in publishing quality articles as they are focused on posting only pictures with less than 20 words. It is very bad because even the community leaders supports and promotes such users by always voting on their articles.

I also faced a lot of challenges because some MODs didn't carry out their review accurately and efficiently as I realized a lot of mistakes in their reviews. It will be great if MODs take out time and do accurate reviews on users' articles.

I also tried as much as possible to support engagement comments but it's unfortunate I supported just few because I didn't come across so many good comments. I hope users try as much as possible to start living meaningful and contributive comments on others articles so that we can support them

In conclusion, it was an amazing day for me as I supported a lot of content ranging from a great variety of different themes

The Top 5 of the Posts selected for this week.
