Black & White or Color?

I took the photos with my Huawei P9 so I didn't bother to do any editing afterwards. I think there really isn't that much to be done to the photos taken with my smartphone, because of the image quality. Or the lack of it. Except for the raw images, but that's a whole different story.

This post is about B&W and color jpg images. What do you like, what I like and which one, color or not, suits better to the situation and subject photographed.

_{I don't have the first photo in black and white, so that perhaps states my opinion on should that photo be with or without color. I could edit it so that only the red line and the child's pants have color, but I think in this case I wont. In the second two photos I definitely like the black and white photo because the color photo looks too ordinary. Just a quick snap. And that it is. The sun is behind my back so it's a dull photo because of that too.}

There was a block party in the city because of the tramline that is supposed to be finished by the year 2021 and I visited an old movie theatre that nowadays is still a theatre, but without the movies. The building was built in 1929 and few years ago it was restored back to it's old beauty. Personally I simply love this kind of architecture and interior design. I love how everything isn't just white, steel and glass or gray concrete. I love how there are details that have no other reason than just to please the viewers or inhabitants eye. No straight lines or functionality to the core, but playful and colorful.

Black and white photography would suit perfectly to the era of the building. But then again there are such color choices that literally make modern architecture and fashionable interior color palette turn pale. ...as it already is pretty pale, but I mean in every way paler... That is, if one happens to like the 1920's Nordic Classicism.

Two photos from the same place, taken with Huawei P9 that uses both it's cameras to built the color photo, and of course, only the monochrome camera when you are taking black and white photos. So the black and white photos are not edited from the color photos afterwards.

My opinion is the the red walls are so irresistible deep red, that one has to show some color. The black and white photos are okay, but the red and yellow combination just wins in these and screams to be seen.

Not sure if I like the black and white more in the first couple. I think I do, but I definitely like the black and white photo in the second two photo set. Even for me there can be too much pale yellow, red and pinkish surfaces.

Pretty dull again. But let me just adjust myself and the camera a bit better and make it black and white.

I think I convinced myself that I should start taking more black and white photos. Not just edit photos afterwards from a color photo because we all know that if I start now, I will be there, still editing the first photo next year this time, what can I say, I just can't decide, but go black and white straight from the start. So that there's no going back to color.

Then again, there are thousand and one things that I could adjust in black and white photos too...

So what do you think?
