Are there homeless people in your country?

Yes, in Pakistan, a developing country, many people don't have homes. It's tough for them to buy even one meal a day because things are so expensive. People who work hard every day can't afford to buy a proper house.

Sadly, a lot of folks in my country don't have their own homes. They either live in small, rundown places or in tents, where they keep their few belongings. Also near my town, I see many people living in tents, showing that homelessness is a big problem that needs attention.

What do you think is the cause that leads these people to be on the street, homeless and without a family?

In our country, there are several reasons why people end up homeless and without family support. The foremost and major reason is poverty the increasing population and rising prices of goods have made it very difficult for ordinary people to afford housing.

Unemployment is also a big issue, where even after obtaining degrees, young people struggle to find suitable jobs. And the government's lack of concern for the welfare of the people is a problem they remain busy with their own affairs without addressing the needs and issues of the general public. Natural disasters also lead to homelessness in my country such as earthquakes or heavy rains.

Has the government tried to try or create decent shelters to help these people?

In my country Pakistan, the issue of providing decent shelters for the homeless has been a recurring challenge across different government administrations.

While many leaders have made promises to address this issue, the actual implementation has often fallen short. However, under the leadership of Imran Khan, significant efforts were made to fulfill these promises.

Khan initiated schemes in various cities aimed at constructing affordable housing and providing registration opportunities for the homeless population.

Despite initial progress, the continuity of these projects was hampered by regime changes, leading to incomplete constructions and ongoing challenges for the homeless.

And the organizations like the Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation have stepped in to provide shelter and support services, alleviating some of the hardships faced by the homeless population.

What could you propose so that these people do not remain in this dark world?

To address the struggles faced by homeless individuals in Pakistan, we need a comprehensive plan. Firstly, the government must prioritize completing housing projects and creating new ones to provide affordable accommodation.The efforts should focus on generating employment opportunities, especially in rural areas, to prevent migration to cities and subsequent homelessness.

Education is needed we need to ensure quality education is accessible and affordable for all children across all areas and help them build a better future. Strengthening social welfare programs, like those offered by the Abdul Sattar Edhi Foundation, can provide immediate relief while long term solutions are developed.
