Good morning fellow adventurers!
there are days where so many things are happening that you have a hard time realizing it all happened in merely a day. More often than not I pick those moments and talk about them in my blog.

But there is also a lot of hours and days where everything is calm and you just bike all day long. This time I will take you through one of those days, where it's just me, my bike and the road.

On a bike you live slow paced, making many hours not as entertaining as one might think.

While the nature and the ever shifting landscape don't get any less beautiful, everything is slow on a bike. So you get used to see the same kind of coast, the same mountains or anything else you are going towards for a very long time. This can often test your patience and your ability to accept, that not every hour of the day will be action packed.

Eventually you get into a flow, turning off the brain and letting the road lead your way

As the hours go by, your body adapts to the surroundings. You don't feel the scorching sun from above the same painful way anymore and your biking feels as normal as breathing. In the end you let your brain flow into thoughts and memories, your eyes keep navigating the road but you are not really there yourself.

On the other side of the pole, challenges suddenly wakes you up, forgetting everything about the past and the future.

So you are drifting around in your own thoughts, maybe you think about a sweet girl in your life, maybe of a old friend or even what you gonna eat for dinner tonight.

Suddenly something wakes you up, demanding your full attention to a upcoming challenge.

Maybe the terrain started testing you with steep climbs, maybe a storm just rolled on top of you, forcing you to bike in heavy winds and rain. (trust me, with a heavy load on your bike that can be difficult at times). Other times you might have gone into a narrow and busy road, with cars driving close to you constantly and you have to find a balance between not driving off the cliff and not getting hit by the cars. You are never really scared but you know focus is needed to keep it safe.

whatever the challenge is, it puts you into the moment, not what comes after or what came before, you are right here. You are so focused that nothing else really matters, at least you forget that it matters, until everything is over.

These two state of minds are something you very often can juggle between, It's not usually something you realise that you do until you reflect back on it.

I hope you enjoyed the small glimpse of what goes through my head and what is happening when I spent countless hours on a bike.

Stay awesome!

Great piece mate! Can certainly agree with a lot of these points and you're 100% right about having a heavy bike in rain and wind is horrible!

I'm off to Kazakhstan just less than a month today to cycle from there to China to finish off my trip cycling from the UK to China, when do you reckon you'll be in china? :)

Woah that's amazing! How come you started from Kazakhstan? I would read about your whole trip! China is far in the future since I will take it slow and Explorer all countries in between, also I gotta watch out for the seasons and prepare for that, in Greece I I will take a short break and make the trip into Asia ready.

I unfortunately got ill in Russia last year which forced me to fly home and have had to work to earn more money to fly back out, but starting off in Kazakhstan as can't afford another VISA for Russia. Slowly is the best way to do it! :) How is Greece right now? What other countries have you visited?

So far went though Denmark(ofc), Germany, czech republic, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia and soon heading into Montenegro! Sorry to hear about your illness but it's so awesome you taking it back up! Gonna follow you and keep a eye on your upcoming trip :)

Nice!! Montenegro... please make sure to post about there! :) What has currently been the highlight of your trip (if you can narrow it down)?
Thanks man, back to health now which is good... appreciate that! Does this Steem Chat work yet?

I think the most memorable have been the north/west part of Slovenia nature wise, where I had to do a really big climb and after that I met two nice people I have had a lot of fun days with down in the valley. But there's so many highlights already its crazy! I'm not sure about the steem chat have not checked it out yet although I should! Haha:)

I bet that was stunning, I will have a look at your posts about Slovenia! I'm happy to hear there's many memoriea, got so many more coming your way I'm sure! That's fair enough I haven't checked it out properly yet either :)

What an amazing journey! Bike traveling is the best! Love the photographs!

Thanks man! :)

Wow, that just sounds like an amazing journey

Hey man, i hope yesterdays rain storms didn't catch you!

Even though i don't cycle such as long journeys as yours i totally understand you. And i know the current roads you're taking. You get tired of the scenery and than you just think about how long this road is. Around 15 years ago, there was no highway to the south of Croatia and this road was the only road for all vehicles. I remember driving to Trogir from Slovenia for 12 hours, a path that is now possible in 2-3 hours.

That's some cool facts! I am enjoying to bike in Croatia very much! Oh and yes, the thunderstorm yesterday was right on my ass, I got my tent up somewhere by a lake just in time, the thunder was all me, haha

Great pictures.
