Introduction

Hi everyone how are you all, hope all is really working fine.Today I will like to share with you guys my third Achievement course which is about proof-of-brain concept, citation , content etiquette and plagiarism.

Proof-of-brain concept

This concept encourages and motivates creativity on every post made by steemians. Every post on steemit is required to be creative and inspiring carved out from serious brainstorming

It's in you think and write and make sure you light up your community

The proof-of-brain concept is the reward I you on a post, when it is creative, educative or informative and originally written by you, which is known as STEEM.

Citation

This means giving credit to an original author of an article or picture when used by another person. The source from where the person gets the article has to be attached to the article stating the original author of the article.

How to cite

Using an example of a scripture in the bible I will show how to cite

"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
source

Content Etiquette

"Etiquette is the code of polite behaviour among members of a particular group.

In other words, Content Etiquette are the standards, cultures or ethics that guides me in doing the right things on steemit.it therefore generally helps anybody reading my post to have a vivid understanding on or about what am writing clearly without controversies.

It is therefore paramount that newbies reads and understands the content etiquette, as it has been of great help to all steemians.

Plagiarism are things we need to be careful with in steemit, because it is highly not appreciated in the steemit policy and anyone that trys to pratice it faces punishment of not getting the appropriate vote which will not be good for any one on here.

Plagiarism

Objectives of study;
i.types
ii.causes
iii.purnishment

Plagiarism can be seen as a process of using another person's work to make up your post without passing proper information to the original writer or without the concent of the original writer.

This really piss me off when ever I hear about plagiarism because I see no good reason that someone else will try hard to write then you copy. These has really been a big problem in our community this days and most times people don't take due consideration to it.

Types of plagiarism

Direct plagiarism

This is type of plagiarism where a writer copies his or her whole content from a source without changing any single thing or without even citing the source or adding a quotation.
For example in terms of examination in the back then in school students really engage our in this kind of plagiarism by coping the whole work made by another person most times some of them copy even reg no. Because of lack of seriousness especially during assignments and tests just to pass or get a high grade and go to a new level.

Self plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs when a student copies his previous work in place of the present assignment given to him or her or mixing part of it which was given to him in his present class without taking permission from his teacher.
For example a student which depends on his or her pass work and not making more research this type of plagiarism normally occurs here on stemmit indecent the a writer always depends on his previous work or engaging in repeatations on the same word many of us too lazy to create a new works without the repeatations of the previous work and is a badomen to a writer and it doesn't speak good of them

Mosaic plagiarism

This type of plagiarism occurs when a writer or bloggers borrows a work from another source without adding the appropriate quotation marks or citing the source this also called patch work this is a cenerio where a writer copies half or part of another person writing to complete his or her own work.

Accidental plagiarism

This is really the part of plagiarism which we should be careful with as it occurs when a writer forgets to cite the source or add a quotation

How to avoid plagiarism

Plagiarism can be avoided in many ways but these ways are only left for us to carry out and I will list some of these ways.

1.Using your own words
it is very good if we can abide by the simple rule by just using our own words even when copying from a particular source.

2.Citing the site
Plagiarism can also be avoided by citing the correct source of the place where you copied your work and it can be done by doing the link and applying some basic markdown styles on them.with this little step,I can say anyone that applies this rule is free from Plagiarism.

3.By adding quotations
This is another way which we can avoid this Plagiarism by just adding proper quatations to our words so that the reader will know that you copied it from another source and this can be done by adding> this to your words.

Example
the practice of using another person's ideas and pretending that it is yours weather knowingly or unknowingly

Consequences of plagiarism

1.It leads to failure of that assignment or examination because you are not giving your best while you copy.
2.in steemit,it can make the person not to get the required vote .
3.it may lead to the expellment of the person in his proposed position or job
4it can also lead to laziness and also this will withdraw you from achieving successful things in life

Conclusion

My candid advice to everyone is to stop enaging in Plagiarism and also try to be creative, plagiarism is not a good thing that someone should practice. the more you create yourself the more intelligent you become try to focus on your work and creativity thanks
"I have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to embrace and abide by them
