Being SPONTANEOUS with another wood carving
As always, education first, so a great Hi to the whole steemit community
Here you can see one of those first exercises in a previous publication: Vestigios danzantes.. una talla cuadro a cuadro, pulgar a pulgar.
Being spontaneous can be conditioned by the expression of an specific moment, the relief expressed in white canvases, molded with the ductility of clay or the hardness of the wood; opening to the present and the action of the moment declares fulminantly the natural and candid traits of the wood carving. With nothing else to add…
¡Let's do this!
This new member of the family was fertilized inside a small rectangular block, which was delimited by lines that marked a figure perceived as always within this material.
As always, I start by giving a general and geometric volume eliminating excess wood.
Then, in a more focused way, I was manually grinding with my faithful friend (cutter/scalpel) in a more detailed and particular way the specific volumes.
As you can see in the following images, the volume started being perfectly oval, then i decided to separate them with a gap, which abruptly divided them into two poles.
Little by little I was shaping it in such a way that its shape was more polished and defined by adding subtle curvatures in the center of the gap.
I decided to experiment a little while working with a central opening in the middle part of the size, which suddenly became a total hole that allowed me to play a little with the empty and occupied spaces perceived in the carving.
A sanding and sealing job to finish the carving.
And as always, it´s usual session of picaronous photography’s with their respective details.
