How to be a good manager, rule 1.
Treat people how you would want to be treated!
We work most our lives and have bosses, or we are bosses and most of the time it's both.
Think about the boss you really dislike(d). Usually they treat you like garbage, they don't listen, don't take you serious, demotivate, withdraw energy from others.......
And why does this happen?
I truly believe that bad managers let the shit role downwards, either their own problems or bad mood, or problems from the company. It really demotivates people to be treated worse than you would treat yourself or a friend.
It is scientifically proven that positivity motivates a person much better than negativity. Even worse, one negative comment counteracts 3 positive ones, so being negative is more damaging than you think. It takes 4 positive comments to motivate a person after a negative comment, and usually after negativity, a spiral of negativity follows in the company, or between employees. Acting like you are better than your employees, is also a really good way to drive them away, and not care about their job anymore.
There is one simple rule, that is easy and makes sure you are not an accidental asshole at work.
Would you want to be treated like you treat your staff?
If the answer is NO............change it.

Hello @hefziba. I do enjoy your post. It is highly motivated because at some point in life we will have to manage people and if one did not possess such quality it will be detrimental. Nice post. Looking forward for your more post on this platform. Cheers!!
I really appreciate that you leave a comment. I hope that the next generation in the work force will be happier than the one before. I already see that the younger generation wants to mean something for society and each other, but sometimes get coached by old style managers. In this way history will repeat itself.
Thanks for encouraging me, it means a lot to see it might actually make a difference, even for one person.
I also agree with you. An arrogant and arbitrary boss will not make his subordinates feel comfortable at work because they are full of pressure. It will affect their creativity and performance in a company. Sorry my English is not very good because I use Google Translate. Best Regards @hefziba.
I understood perfectly! You are right, and I hope you will inspire people to be creative.
thanks. I hope you do too. Continue to do good and inspire everyone with your writing and your actions. Keep working @hefziba.
It is better to be your own employee instead of working for a boss that treats like a garbage.
Sounds great. I do like being a good manager though. I am building start-up, and we are growing in employees. Its beautiful to see people thrive, if you actually invest, not only money, but also emotionally, in them.
