My Curio Cards NFT Collection : My Curio Cards is a digital art collection consisting of 29,700 non-fungible tokens released on the Ethereum blockchain on May 9, 2017. Created by Thomas Hunt, Travis Urig and Rhett Creighton, the project aims to provide a platform for artists. To monetize their work directly without an intermediary using a token-based model to convey ownership and reduce the risk of counterfeiting and copying.
Now let me give you some history of the My Curio Cards collection:The founders and creators of the My Curio Cards NFT project are Thomas Hunt, Travis Uhrig, and Rhett Creighton. Hunt, a Bitcoin YouTuber, and Uhrig, a software developer, Initially met at a bitcoin meetup in San Francisco. They collaborated with Creighton, a former child actor turned nuclear engineer, to develop smart contracts for the My Curio card.
At the time, NFT coding standards such as ERC-721 and ERC-1155 did not exist, so they had to hand-code every detail and manually put each card on the Ethereum blockchain. The three founders were inspired by Looney's Rare Pepe project, which preceded Curio cards. The initiated project was published before the establishment of NFT coding standards such as ERC-721 and ERC-1155. The collection consists of 30 cards, featuring the works of seven artists: Cryptography, Cryptopop, Daniel Friedman, Marisol Vengas, Phonip.
