Wetland of Natural Beauty, Tanguar Haor

This year's tour was the most fun during the times of Tanguar Haor. As I mentioned earlier, Sylhet is one of the most visited places in Bangladesh. Because of its natural beauty, Tanguar Haor is the largest Haor in Bangladesh. I spent the whole two days inside the boat, just water all around. The color of the water was nice because of the sky color. For those who are actually accustomed to boat travel, this is a wonderful place.

Today I am sharing with you some parts of Tanguar Haor, I hope you like it too. Although I am not a very good photographer, I took some pictures. Because of the surroundings or the beautiful things, people are fascinated to try to capture it through the camera. Tourists come here all year round, to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the surroundings.

The rainy season is a good time to visit Tanguar Haor, because there is plenty of water around. Tanguar Haor is located in Sunamganj of Sylhet district. Tanguar Haor is made up of 120 bils, small and large. During the rainy season, the whole area is under water. Then it becomes a natural sanctuary for fish. About 140 species of freshwater fish are found here. So the fishermen got busy for fishing in the rainy season.

To nature lovers, Tanguar Haor is far more popular. Because of its role in protecting biodiversity, the role of Tanguar Haor is immense. Due to its safe sanctuary, many species of birds come here from Siberia in winter. I heard from the people here that about 51 species of birds have arrived here. Although many try different ways to prevent these birds from hunting. Today, it is known as a popular place in Bangladesh. While we were traveling, there were more than 125 engine-powered boats.

The communication system here is a bit difficult though. Yet the beauty of nature draws in, many tourists come here. If you want to get to Tanguar Haor, you have to travel from Dhaka to Sunamganj by bus. Then go to Tahirpur. From here you can rent an engine-powered boat and go to Tanguar Haor.
