Gringalicious Travels to Argentina, Villa La Angostura - Part 1steemCreated with Sketch.

Hey Steemians! Travel with me to Argentina

The pic above is actually on the Chilean side of the border. This waterfall is only about 1.5 KM from the Chilean border station. There is approximately a 35 minute drive between the Chilean and Argentinian checkpoints.

My little brother went with me, yes, he is my little brother, he's only 17.

The pic above is of the Chilean checkpoint, Paso Cardenal Antonio Samore is the name of the crossing. This was setup as a temporary station after the eruption of a volcano in 2011. I think it is now going to be the permanent station.

Remember above I said there was a volcano eruption here in 2011. You can get more information about that here - 2011 Puyehue-Cordón Caulle eruption

The pic above is of the Argentinian checkpoint. I was not able to capture it in photos, but you can really tell the state of the two governments. On the Chilean side, everything is automated, the facilities are clean, etc. On the Argentinian side, everything is done manually. In fact, I just thought of something, they don't even give out visas at their station. As an American citizen, when you enter Chile, you get a 90 day tourist visa which now is just a laser printed receipt with you passport number and date of when it expires. They put the fear of God into you not to lose it, which is a real pain in the ass. The Argentinians didn't give a crap apparently, which was actually kind of nice.

So, just about 20 minutes after crossing the border, if you head South you come to the beautiful town of Villa La Angostura. And, I have to tell you, it was WAY, Way prettier than I expected. I thought it was gorgeous and definetely one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

The pic above is not mine SOURCE

We rented cabins at Encanto Del Rio in Villa La Angostura. If you ever travel there, I do recommend this place. I'll be writing a Trip Advisor review for sure.

In Part 2, I will share a lot more of Villa La Angostura and explain why I had to go there in the first place. Until then, have a great weekend

ALL OF THIS CONTENT WILL BE CROSS POSTED AT MY WEBSITE, you can find out more in my INTRO POST.
