SHOWING LOVE ON THE STREET
February 17 was a day i looked forward to as it was LOVE ON THE STREET where my team and i showed love to the indigents on the street since february is tagged the month of love. Each volunteer made out time to publicize the programme, making awareness about the programme. We received support from people who made their contributions, we were able to get cloths, snacks, drinks, footwear, both for the children and the adults. On arrival at the venue, the first thing that was done was to sensitize them about keeping their environment clean, which is very paramount and they agreed to adhere to the instructions, they also told us how they got a basket for their dirt which was very good thing. They were so happy with what we brought and rushed us collecting it…lol…. Our presence there also attracted people who also brought somethings for them. Giving indeed brings joy knowing that you were able to put smile on a face, knowing you were able to provide someone with a level of comfort which they cannot afford. Some of them were able to tell us their plight and what they go through but all i can say is that someday, everything will be fine. I will not forget in a hurry how one of them prayed for us from his heart. Here are few of the pictures.

I was waiting for your Love on the Street post. Beautiful! What great work you are doing there in your community. Many of us take for granted the basic necessities in life that is life-changing to others. You are going out to help others on here and in the real world.

"Showing Love on the Street" ... that tugs at a heart! What a fantastic display of caring for your fellowman! So often, we forget how blessed we are! Small things that we take for granted are a "big deal" to so many among us! I firmly believe that regardless of how much we think we have or don't have, everyone CAN make a difference! We find we don't have to venture too far from home to encounter dire human need. Sometimes, all it takes is a trip to the corner store to realize that indeed, we are blessed and there is much we can do to address poverty and need!
@gracefavour, I applaud you and your team for reaching out in your community! I wish you continued success and sincerely hope your passion becomes contagious and it starts a "Movement of Kindness" through your street!

Doing good does not have to be big, it can start with one simple act of kindness.Thank you, we are just group of friends who love doing good. We have a movement but working on the structure.
Taking action is always where it matters! Often we are full of good intentions and kind thoughts but these are less frequently turned into actions. You and your team are taking action!
