SEC - S10W3 | The Power Of Good Advice.

Have you ever received a piece of advice or warning from someone? Most of us do this from time to time and it is because we all need help and counsel, and none of us has all the answers. There are so many uncertainties surrounding us starting from economic to political, so we need solid hope and assurance. Half of the Marriages in the world today end in divorce, teenage pregnancy is ubiquitous, STDs are rampant and pandemic this calls for an urgent need for sober and, practical guidance.

We all need help and advice in this confusing system of things, for example, married couples need advice on how to have a successful marriage, parents need help on the best way they can raise their children, teenagers need council on how they can sort out their conflicting emotions and face peer pressure which may seem to be overwhelming. Yes everybody needs help in working out practical moral values in a world where immorality, dishonesty, and violence seem to be more acceptable. But where can we find such help and advice?

WHAT DO YOU THINK ADVICE IS FOR, IS IT REALLY NECESSARY?

I think advice is for correction, guidance, and opinion given to be useful. It helps us to avoid most of the pitfalls that exist today. I shared the same sentiment of this wise proverb "Plans fail when there is no consultation, But there is an accomplishment through many advisers". ~ Proverbs 15:22. Good advice helps us to become better persons and to be successful in life. Advice is necessary, it helps us to make an informed good decision and to be knowledgeable, only the foolish one will despise or reject good advice.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE RECEIVED, WHO GAVE IT TO YOU?

The best advice I've received before was from my PARENTS and the source of the advice was God's word, they told me "Never to follow after the Crowd" meaning I shouldn't do something simply because everyone is doing it, this is because right is right even if I'm the only one doing it, and wrong is wrong even though everyone is doing it.

TO WHOM DO YOU REGULARLY TURN TO FOR ADVICE?
I always turn to the best source of advice God's word the Bible, it contains guidance on how to live, it is like a lamp to our foot and a light to our roadway. Sometimes, my parents and they will still use God's word to advise me coupled with their life experiences, other times I used to turn to my belove elder sis @gracyakan.

She has wisdom and normally gives me practical advice and healthy tips, she is a professional Nurse practitioner so anytime I'm not feeling well or any of my kids or hubby is unwell we turned to her, and she'll offer practical guidance. I only visited the hospital during antenatal, or childbirth, that's because my sister is always there to give me good advice. My husband also used to give me advice.

DO YOU LIKE TO GIVE OR RECEIVE ADVICE?
I like both, there's a saying that "iron sharpens iron so friends sharpen one another." Another one says "As water reflects our faces so the heart of one person reflects another's " so as I was saying in the introductory paragraph, we all need advice, and one thing about advice is to give and take. I do give advice if someone asked, but I don't need to wait for a close person to ask me for one, and I do listen and take in more instructions, it helps me to be wise, and acquire skillful directions.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE RECEIVED ON STEEMIT, WHO GAVE IT TO YOU AND WHAT HAS IT HELPED YOU WITH?

Be consistent, always write good content and try to be different, power up and build your account, and be patient, when you write a post forget about that one and move to another, engage with other users, and vote is not guaranteed, haha, etc.

Eliany gave me this advice when I joined the platform newly, and it really helped me then as a newbie not to feel entitled as some do, it helps me to be consistent to date, and form powering up habit, even when there was no club status rule then.

The power of good advice can't be overemphasized, it helps us to develop good behavior and character and to be wise and successful in life, we don't have all the answers and we don't know everything, asking or taking advice from others will help us.
