The literary movement of the 13th century in Italy - "the sweet new style" /last part/

in #undefined6 years ago (edited)

Most of the works of Guetone of Arezzo became famous due to their inventory, preserved in the Florentine Library of Lorrentana. Written by this poet's sonnets and canzone are separated in two parts: the works of secular poet Guetone influenced by the courtly tradition and creations brother Guetone written on monk after his subordinates and his new life destiny and moral principles. But if the chosen topics and the language and style used in them are taken into account, all of Guetone 's work impresses with its unity, despite the strict division that was made in the above-mentioned inventory of his cantons and sonnets.

To 48 canzone and 182 minutes sonnet appearing in the inventory of the library Lorenzini, should be added to the gum by 12 sonnet (stored in the National Library of palace Escorial, Madrid) and 21 sonnet printed in Florence Publishing Juni in 1527. According to the Lorencyna Lutheran Library, Guetone has created 34 messages, 27 written in prose and 7 in poems. Following the conventions established in the Provençal lyric, Guetone creates poetry in which he introduces secular themes and moral suggestions characterizing the poetics of the Old Sicilian Lyric School. He enriches the lyrical vocabulary and the expressions of Italian poetry by adapting the style to the already taught with imagination of a very popular Tuscan language. This poet became a leading figure in the group of poets Monte Andrea, Pisano, Panucci , Orlandi, who exchanged constantly verse greetings, dedications exquisite and fine compliments. Recognizing his contribution to the improvement of the Italian late medieval intimate lyrics Guitone of Arezzo is often reproached by "the sweet new style"- mostly by Cavalcanti and Dante because of "insufficient knowledge" of the human soul ..

Guido Guinnessel

In XXVI song "Purgatory" Dante Alighieri determined Guido Guinitseli as his teacher, even though he was the only sweet new style" man that the creator of the "Divine Comedy" did not know personally. In it, the poet Vergilius meets with the famous Inspirational of the Sweet New Style and pays tribute to him for his melodic poetry. Guido Guinitseli was born in Bologna, where he became a judge, and later as a politician. He was expelled from his hometown because of his belonging to the Lambertsi group, which was pushed out of the political life of the city by the Jeremy family in 1274. Together with his wife, Bice della Fraata and his son Giducco was forced to settle in the town of Monselice. He died early, at the age of 41, at the very end of 1276. The last document he left is the power of attorney, with which he entrusts the raising of his young son to his wife.

Guinnessel creates modest creativity: five cantons, fifteen sonnets, and two lyrical fragments. At first he imitates Gutonne from Arezzo, whom he testified in his son deity as a teacher of poetry. Later, however, he opposes openly the lyrical tradition that follows Gutonne. Although slightly productive, this poet predetermines a new direction in the development of the late medieval Italian lyrics. Guinitseli recreates in detail their followers and their views on love and morals of his beloved in his famed canzona "Amor heart resides noble".
