Too Much On My Mind
A Mind Full Of Christmas And . . .
This morning I had to sit myself down and force myself to stop for 10 minutes and do nothing.
I don't feel massively stressed but I am not functioning at my best.
Let me explain . . .
Last weekend we went to visit my brother in Bristol and the plan was to travel straight home from the National Trust Property we were visiting, in order not to add unnecessary time to our journey.
However, on leaving the orangery, I realised that I had left my handbag at their house which necessitated a return trip to Bristol. 😢
It wasn't all bad though because it meant I briefly got to see my nephew who'd just returned from a weekend in London.
So . . . handbag in hand we set off again.
We'd been on the road about 10 minutes when my sister-in-law rang to say I'd left a pair of shoes at the house.
So . . . back we went to pick up the shoes. Grrrrrr!
Fast forward to Tuesday when I was working at a friend's house.
When it was time to leave I couldn't find my red pen. I noticed a blue one on the desk but couldn't find the red one. After much hunting around I found it lying in plain sight.
Later that evening I went to consolidate my "to do" list - an essential at this time of year - only to discover that I'd left it at Jane's house along with my blue pen.
Yep. I stared at it whilst looking for the red one but failed to pick it up.
So . . . quick phonecall to Jane . . .
"No problem" she says, "I'll send you a photo of it."
Hmmm. Well, she must be as frazzled as I am since she actually sent a video and the list is illegible, so I'm "managing" without. 😂
Fast forward to yesterday and I'm trying to work out if I've got enough time to get to Burgess Hill, where my daughter lives, in time for my grandson's nativity.
Said daughter says she's going to be in town at 2.30 which means I can get a life - rather than catching a train - so I decide I can make it.
Once in town I phone her but am unable to hear what's she's saying but it sounds like she's just going out the door and will be with me in 5 minutes.
I'm not sure how she's going to manage that since Burgess Hill is a 30 minute drive from Brighton but decide the door she is referring to must be the car park door.
I hang around waiting. No Rebecca, so phone her again.
Long story short, the "town" she was referring to was Burgess Hill and the town I am in is Brighton! 😱
I was not happy.
Tired and frustrated I trudged my weary way home and resigned myself to missing the nativity.
However, it turns out I didn't miss much. My grandson refused to take part apparently! 😂
Anyhow. There it is. Too much going on in my head. It's full of Christmas dinner preparations, buying Euros for an upcoming trip, preparing the house before the grandkids come for the weekend and, as if that wasn't enough, I'm just about to leave to go to the Marina to check out a possible venue for a surprise party next year.
Oh yeah. And the keys to our holiday rental are supposed to be here by now, the owner having promised to courier them to us, without delay, last Tuesday.
Not to worry though, the way things are going we won't be able to fly out anyway. Someone is flying drones over Gatwick airport and it has been closed since last night!!!
🎄 Merry Christmas Everybody! 😂 🎄
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Hope things improve ... have a wonderful festive break 😍
Thank you @shanibeer. Wishing you have a wonderful time too! 😍
Coming up FULL Moon. I feel like it's time to slow down and nurture ourselves but I'm finding it hard to do just that at the moment too Gillian. 'Life' always seems to get a little crazy and chaotic just before Christmas. I hope Santa gifts you with lots of extra blue and red pens. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎
Well it's not getting any better @allyinspirit. I've been sitting here for half an hour waiting for my friend to pick me up and then realised that it's Thursday today. Our meet up is actually Friday. So tomorrow!
Ah well. At least I'll have time to put the washing out! 😂
I just realized yesterday that it's actually Christmas day in a few days time. Somewhere in my mind, I thought it was still weeks away. What's the Universe trying to tell us? Hope there was a little bit of sunshine for your washing ~ And YOU. 💖💖⚖️💖💖
I thought you were cutting it a bit fine @allyinspirit. 😂
I also thought we had another week to go which is why my mid suddenly got full.
It's not just me though.
John made an extra journey to drop off my grandsons's birthday present from his mum but, it turns out, he took the other grandson's Christmas present by mistake.
And . . . he forgot to pick up some stuff for us that he was supposed to.
All that just adds to the stress.
I'm going to the Marina later to look at a possible venue for a party and will be glad to be out and about by the water for a bit.
I'm pretty sure the Universe is telling me to slow down and breath!
No sunshine yesterday but big enough gaps in the rain not to get wet when I was out. 😁
Here we go then . . . once more into the breach!
💖💖💖
I know I shouldn't laugh Gillian, as these sorts of situations are all so frustrating ~ But something in me really has the giggles now about it all. It's so good to know it's not just us and so good be able to laugh at ourselves.
My friend, who I share a house with, has a birthday two days after Christmas day and she's just decided to have her birthday party here ~ In the backyard garden. I've been trying to get it into order after the ravages of the Brush Turkey ~ But way to go. The idea of having friends here ~ Is electrifying.
It must have been wonderful being by the water. I'd give anything to have a day just to wander by the water somewhere ~ Will have to wait until next year to do that now.
Somehow I think the idea of making a Christmas Tree is for 2019 now too. Hope you have a week-end full of fun and freedom ~ That will give you nothing but good memories to look back on. 💖💖⚖️💖💖
In a good way? Could be either. 😂
I can't imagine having to wait until next year to have a wander by the water. I'm so lucky to be able to at least see the sea every time I leave the house. I don't think I could give that up now.
Not sure about freedom for the weekend as we are looking after the grandkids but hopefully we will fit some fun in, along with the shopping, cleaning, wrapping and packing. 😂
I hope you get your garden cleared up easily and have a fun time doing so.
💙
I was going to say 'terrifying' but somehow the word 'electrifying' sounded even more dramatic. 😁
Our friends love us for who we are, and for the perfect beings we are still trying to become ~ Which is far more important to remember, than being concerned about how tidy the garden is.
But I've been working on creating a beautiful garden for many years now and would really love it to be seen at it's very best. And right now it needs A LOT of TLC. And it IS essential that it's fun to do too. The garden picks up on our energy. You can really feel it.
My family are interstate. I used to travel to see them when my parents were still here, but no longer feel the need to do that ~ So will have my time by the water somewhere on Christmas day.
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend ~ Having fun with the grandkids and all the preparations for the gift giving day. 💖💖⚖️💖💖
I had one of those Gillian moments yesterday. Short story: Hopped on the wrong bus that was going express to the city.
💖💖⚖️💖💖
I try to be more aware. It also means trying to forget less. When I want to go out of the apartment, I force myself to consciously perceive everything and only when I know and understand to go out of the house. This takes more time, which also makes you more patient. That is good, because then you might still see the burning candle and then maybe the things you would have forgotten.
Congratulations on the birth of your little grandson :D
Taking that much time before leaving the house is simply not feasible for me @suntree. Especially with the kids in tow. 😂
Taking regular time out to stop and breath works best for me. It's just that sometimes I get caught up and forget to do so. 😁
One thing for sure, your life is never dull @gillianpearce :) Deep breath girl; tomorrow, and Christmas will come, whether we're ready or not!! Happy holidays and enjoy your trip too!
Lots of love <3
exactly @lynncoyle1. That's what I keep telling myself.
Happy holidays to you and Brian too. Lots of love to you both. 💙
Lately I also started to forget and change things, but for the moment inside my own mind, and I boasted of having great memory, age takes its price. Well, despite all the confusion, congratulations on becoming a grandmother!

Yep. I've been a grandmother for 4 years exactly today @pedrocanella. How the time has flown!
I wish I could slow it down.😢
I think you need an urgent night of good sleep. :-P
Well strangely enough @trinscowski I'm sleeping pretty well. It's what happens when I'm awake that's the problem. 😂
Mhmm. Yes. Sounds like you got it pretty bad. I'll be glad when it's next year and the days start getting longer. We are doing christmas in shorts this year, going to be like 78 Christmas day.. Crazy. Soon. Soon it will be done.
Christmas in warm weather just never seems right to me @spozone. I've done a few in my time but I prefer the cold. One of the few times I do. 😊
