Chaos Dwarfs #11 the standard bearer! Let's paint!

Hello and welcome to another step by step painting miniatures post from me! Today I will show you the process of painting this little bannerman from Scibor. It was a pure pleasure painting the model and I hope you like it as much as I do!

Let't jump to the painting!

First off I painted the skin using Cadian Fleshtone (GW) mixed with Dark Sea Blue (Vallejo) for the base then added more of the dark colour for the shades and Ivory White (Vallejo) for the highlights. Finally I did bring some colour to the cheeks and around the nose adding Mephiston Red (GW) with a glaze to the mix. Beard I painted with Dawnstone grey mixed with black and white building it up from dark to light. 

Next I decided to do the red since it was a big part of the model with the massive banner and since a big part of the banner itself was this ornament in the middle I painted the gold as well just to see it more complete. Colours used for the red were Khorne Red, Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet (GW). I also based the metal with Darksea Blue and Ivory White (Vallejo).

Finished the metal adding highlights with Ivory White (Vallejo) and glazing the shadows with Tank Brown (Vallejo).

The handle of the banner I based with Tank Brown (Vallejo) and highlighted with mournfang brown (GW) and White. The fur on the back I painted with Mournfang brown and Zandri Dust (GW) mixed with Ivory white for the final highlights. I did random patches of lighter tones like worn fur would have after being exposed to the sun. The non metallic metal on the weapon I did with Dawnstone Grey (GW), Black and White. 

Finally I painted the base and mounted the soldier on it. All ready for the table!
