Weekly Report as a Country Representative from Nigeria

in Steem POD Team2 years ago (edited)

Introduction

It's time to give the first report of September, the report that shared days with the remnant of August. It's been an amazing experience yet again to have been able to work on a few things across the platform which I'd share in this piece.

Home Community Duty

Everything starts from home and I believe one of the basic reasons country representatives were appointed is to cater for the affairs of the people from the region, as such I have been actively involved in running the Steem4Nigeria communities even though there are a few challenges, regardless, I keep putting in the best despite having several duties across the platform.

I have been involved in the creation of a community contest for members at the beginning of the week after discussing it with other admins and I'm sure that this has encouraged many members to remain active with us. That said, I have been actively involved in keeping things in check, fishing out irrational practices of newbies, and have adequately guided most of them to do the right thing. Some of my other activities are:

  • Muting fake accounts or users that chose to cheat the system via our community.

  • Utilizing the communities standard to verify articles published in the community.

  • Adequate upvote of quality content with my account and the community's account.

  • Selecting articles for booming support on a day (Tuesday) of the week.

Supporting Nigerians

  • I have not limited my support to the Steem4Nigeria community alone but the tentacles have been spread to leaving adequate comment on articles produced by Nigerians across the platform.

  • Voting on great content published by Nigerians on the platform.

  • Delegation of 500 SP to one of the users that won in the Power Contest where I was one of the sponsors. The delegation period is 21 days and I have urged users to use the delegated SP judiciously.

Promoting Quality Activeness

My duty is not limited to keeping users active alone but making their activeness worth it. One can be active and be producing junk that wouldn't impress visitors who are having a first-time experience with the platform. This necessitated me to create a contest that has to deal with users creating a quality contest that looks beyond 300 words mark.

Moderator and Curator Role

The moderator and curator role in the Nigerian community was not the end. Over the last seven days, I have adequately worked as a moderator at the Steemit Crypto Academy where I have reviewed some valid entries while I also came across some invalid entries from unverified users giving proper directives to those to get verified at the Newcomers' community and participate in other communities too. That said, I found a case of plagiarism as the author directly copied from the Internet.

In addition, I was selected as one of the community curators for September under Team 2 and I eventually becomes the leader of the team. The duty began last Friday and as the leader, I started curation on the first day to show other team members what our mode of operation would be. I was able to curate across several communities, countries, blogs and tags.

Account Stats

In this section, I would be showing some of my account stats which include Club status, Owner SP, Reputation score, Voting CSI, and others. To do this, let's see the table below:

BasisResult
Club Status#club75
Owned SP18,110 SP
Reputation Score73.6
Voting CSI15.8 ( 0.00 % self, 150 upvotes, 88 accounts, last 7d )

Plans for the Future

  • It's a pledge to continually support the platform, people from Nigeria, and other people on the platform.

  • Adequate contribution to Steem's development in the best possible way.

  • Launching a charity project that would be targeted at children at the Orphanage Homes across Osun state, Nigeria. I have the opportunity to be in one of the homes a few months ago, the children need a lot.

  • Steemit touching lives across schools in Osun state is another project I'd be working on in the coming weeks. Often, a lot of pupils/students are sent home during continuous assessments/examinations in schools due to unpaid fees, I hope to come in and be of help through Steemit.

  • These projects would be spearheaded with Steemit's name, it would not only touch lives but spread more news about Steemit across this state of the federation. Adequate updates would be released at the right time.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it's been yet another week filled with activities. I was a bit hindered from writing more articles during the week due to putting a few things in place on the platform and other personal stuff. I have shared in this report some of my activities over the just-concluded week and a few of the projects I have in mind for the future. Thanks for reading through today.

You are right, @simonnwigwe. Projects like the proposed would touch many lives around under the umbrella of Steemit. I'm quite sure this would be one of the notable projects in Nigeria. Thanks for your time on this, brother.

You have presented a well-constructed and detailed report @fredquantum, and I'm so happy to see the above charity project you have proposed for Osun State which is my state. It is a beautiful plan and I wish you success in the project ahead. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for leaving a quality interaction on this today, @temitopef.

Indeed you are worthy country representative, thank you for your good works, I know it is never easy to lead, and you have your share of challenges, thus, I say more grease to your elbow.

As always, it is a self explanatory article that needs no explanation. Senior, thank you for your good works and much success ahead.
