Introduction

I am delighted friends to make my entry in this contest organized by SteemALive community. In this contest, we are expected to Promote Steem in our city and report about our promotion activity. So here is my own entry as I engaged in the promotional activity yesterday. I really planned to made this post that same yesterday, but the recent server challenge prevented me from doing it. So here is how my promotion activity went.

1. My Steem Promotion Methods

I combine different methods to promote Steem and achieve results. I promote steem through running Facebook sponsored ads. Through this means, I have recruited and assisted a lot of newbies. I also host weekly Radio presentations where we try to create awareness for Steem and get new users to join.

For this particular contest, the Radio presentations I made few weeks ago and last year yielded result. The newbies that I recruited heard me on Radio and saved my number. Then the called me and asked to learn more about Steem. I invited them to the training center and that was how they joined. So Radio presentations and Facebook Sponsored ads are some of my methods.

2. My Promotion materials

Promotion cannot be complete and effective without the promotion materials. They are tools to help pass information efficiently and do proper branding. So here are my promotional materials:

1. T-Shirt: For this promotion, I wore the new T-shirt which I made for our brand new Steem Promotion Project - Sell More! You can see the T-shirt below:

2. Banner: I normally make sure there is a banner for my promotion. Our current promotion project is Food4Thought. I did a giant 12x8 foot banner which is installed in our training center. We use it to advertise our Steem promotion project as well us a background for taking pictures. You can see it below

3. Flier I print many fliers for different promotion events. For this particular promotion, I used our Food4thought flier. The project is currently on, so we have a lot of the fliers printed already. Below is the flier:

4. Registration form: Data collection is important during promotion. I designed and printed a registration flier so that it will be easy to get new user data. You can see the form below:

3. How people responded to my Promotion efforts

I would say the response to my promotion efforts are always positive. The Radio presentation is always lively and productive. People keep calling me many weeks or months after they heard me. Surpisingly, one of the newbies I was able to sign up to me that he heard our Radio presentation on June 2021. He has been trying to do it by himself but couldn't. So generally, many people respond positively to my steem promotion.

4. What are the main challenges to joining Steemit

There are several challenges that make some potential users not to join us. Let me mention the one that is most popular:

• Inadequate or no Smartphone: Some of the interested people that came do not have a good smartphone to handle Steemit. This has become a major challenge. There are some that come and they do not have any smartphone at all. As such, they are not able to sign up and start blogging here.

5. I signed up 2 new users

I was able to successfully sign up two new users and they have published their introduction posts. I was able to show them evidence that Steem can change their lives. I helped them to appreciate the value of Steem currency and to see the value they can get here. I also showed them the many new users that are signing and and how large our community is. I was able to take a picture with them as they prepared to write their introduction posts:

6. Main Promotion Challenges and Possible Solutions

• Inadequate Phone or No phone: There are some users that do not have a phone, or the phone they have is not adequate to blog on Steemit. That has been a problem.

The Solution? For these ones, I try to encourage them to get a phone on loan. They can gradually pay for the phone as they write and earn. Up to 3 newbies have been able to get a phone through the EasyBuy phone loan.

• Poor Network: Sometimes, the newbies find it difficult to access Steemit because the network on their phone is slow. As a result, Steemit takes a lot of time to open and that is discouraging.

The Solution: I encourage the newbies to upgrade their SIM card to 4G network. When they do, the problem is Network is usually solved and they are able to continue blogging.

Conclusion

Promotiom is one great way to grow Steemit. I will continue to do Steem Promo projects. Together we can take Steem to the moon!!!
