Introduction

It is time to make this formal application for Steemalive community for the month of November 2021. I really appreciate the opportunity to run the community with my team. We hope to get better with each passing month of the year.

SteemAlive Community - Our Purpose

Our community Steemalive was designed as a Steem Promotion community. Right from day one, we explained in our mission statement that we want to take Steemit to every doorstep in Nigeria and beyond. We have used various promotion strategies to achieve this purpose over the course of 1 year. We have used word of mouth, Radio, Street campaigns and other strategies to recruit, mentor and support new users. It is not surprising that we are probably the largest collection of active Nigerians on Steemit

SteemAlive Community Team

Running a community and making it successful requires the effort of more than 1 person. SO from the start, we have selected many capable hands to help us pilot the activities of the community. Below is our community team:

@tenguatanga is from Cameroun. Apart from her, all the other members of the team are from Nigeria. Our official language is English. Apart from that, we have local dialects too. So all the team members write, speak and understand English, plus one local dialect.

All the team members are volunteers and we try to support them with votes. @samuel20 is a paid full-time staff. We are happy doing the work and making sure things go as planned.

Community Curation account

Building our community account to be able to support all members is something we have taken serious. Our main community economy has been through curation trail. Our community curation trail account is @steem-alive. But we also have the main community account which is @steemalive. It has 15,000 SP.

Plans for building community voting power

• Curation Trail: From onset, we understood the importance of curation trail as it is a crucial way to make everyone contribute to community voting power. We are proud to announce that @steemAlive has the most followed curation trail with more than 500 followers. Our trail is currently voting with $3.5 - $4.3 depending on the price of Steem.

• @save2soar: The save2soar project has been very great in assisting us to build our community voting power. Each week, participants of this project send 10 Steem to the account which we power up. As we speak, @save2soar account has accumulated more than 12,000 SP

• Beneficiary earnings (NEW): We started this project not too long ago. We asked our community members to volunteer at least 10% of their post earnings to SteemAlive so that they will help us build our Steempower. Right now, we receive some earnings through the benficiary feature. We really thank our community members for always beliving in and supporting us.

We power up most of our earnings. Apart from the little we reserve to support our promotion activities and pay out contest prizes, all our community earnings are powered up.

Plagiarism and Abuse

As a commuinty, we frown at plagiarism because it kills creativity. One important way we through which fight plagiarim is education. Creating awareness and stopping crime at the source has been very effective. We run weekly classes were we stress the importance of creating original content and attributing copied content to its owner. This education has produced great results, in that almost all our members try to create original content

Our moderators @samuel20 and @ninapenda also help us detect plagiarism by checking posts and images using plagiarism tools. With these two methods, we have had rare cases of plagiarism.

Engagement and commenting

We value engagement. Even before many communities saw engagement as something that should be encouraged, we have already done that. For example, before one drops their links in our post promotion group, they must comment meaningfully on two links already dropped. This way, we let them understand that engagement is part of our community requirement. Additionally, we also do projects that encourage engagement like Hello World

Oue weekly contests, which are usually 5 days long are designed with engagement in mind. For each day, participants are expected to comment meaningfully on at least 2 posts. In this way, they are able to support and engage with others.

Plans and Update

Each week, we are able to publish one update for our community members. The updates help them see the status of projects we are doing and any other thing they missed. In this way, everyone is updated.

We plan for the future and we do so always. We have designed many projects

• Save2Soar: This is a 1 year savings investment project. We contribute at least 10 Steem and Power it up at the end of the week. We have 31 participants and we have gone halfway into this project. @save2soar currently has 12k Sp.

• Club5050: We are really working hard with this project. There are many ways we are doing that which includes contests and prizes. We also do weekly mentorship programs in that regard.

• Power2Soar: Another project with a long term lifespan, we have been doing this for some time now. We run this powerup contest once every 2 weeks and we reward winners with delegation.

Promotion

SteemAlive community is designed for promotion and Promotion is what we do. We have exhausted all the avenues available to do promotion. Below are some of our projects on promotion:

• Radio Presentation: We attend radio presentations weekly to help create more awareness in the city. We use RealFm for our Radio presentations and it has been so so amazing. We have had some handful of new recruits join us through the Radio presentations.

• The Steem Road Show: Our Biggest external promotion activity is the Steem Road Show. Currently, more than 70 volunteers are across 5 cities are actively participating in the Steem Road show in cities like Aba, PortHarcourt, Umuahia, Lagos, Uyo, Nasarawa, etc. We hope to expand this project more from the month of November 2021.

• Online ads: As the admin of this community, I personally promote it online. My promotional campaigns include making posts in Nairaland, the largest online forum in Nigeria with more than 2 million active users. I also run ads on Facebook and some other channels like Telegram. This has resulted in large influx of new users. Little wonder we remain the community with the largest curation trail followers.

• SmatKontrat (NEW): From November, we will announce some interesting Steem/Public partnerships which we have been working for some time now under the SmatKintrat. This projects aim to partner with organizations that boast large staff or customers. We will provide details as soon as arrangements are finalized.

Progress with #club5050

We already have a powerup culture. We are one of the earliest communities to start weekly power up project called Power2Soar. When #club5050 was announced, we embraced it with open arms. Here is how we are doing:

• Have all your team members committed to Club5050?

The answer is yes and they have done so big time. I led from the front. I have powered up 3 times since the club was announced. I powered 1000 steem, 500 steem and 100 Steem. My next power up will come in the next two days. @ngoenyi have joined the club. @samuel2020 have also joined. @ninapenda has also powered up and will be making her post soonest. So the admins and mods have committed to the club 100%.

For our City Coordinators, all have joined except @tenguhatanga and @pricelesspresh both are students and have promised to join the club within the week.

• How are you encouraging members of your community to commit to Club5050?

We have been doing so vigorously. We know that people do something when there is a reward for it. So we have announced many contests where participants are rewarded for joining the club. Here are at least 3 of the contests that are still active:

• What success with promoting Club5050 has your community had so far?

We have been doing fine in this #club5050 project. We created a tag for it to help us track of our members doing it in our community. The tag is #club5050elite. We have more than 15 members that have joined. Some others also joined but did not use our tag. Here are their usernames:

Why Choose Us/Conclusion

SteemALive have achieved so much in such a short time. In a little above 1 year of existence, we have recruited and mentored some indivduals that have become so valubale to the Steemit platform. Community founders, Country reps, Professors and other some other valuble members of the steem blockchain from Nigera are products of this community.

We are probably the Nigerian gateway for Steemit. We are still doing the largest organzied peomotion of Steemit in Nigeria. We currently have more than 65 promoters across 5 cities actively doing the Road Show and other promotion strategies. If we get this support, we will do even more and be able to support the many new recruits joining our ranks everyday.
