 I mention habits a lot. Here is a very important one you should start incorporating today if you would like to see a change on the scale.


Eat until you are about 80% full then stop. I wouldn’t be fooling anyone if I were to say this is easy. Because it really isn’t. But it is very important when it comes to weight loss. In this post I will first discuss the benefits of this strategy followed with some tips on how to successfully incorporate it into your lifestyle and finally I’ll explain how you can WIN SBD.  


HOW WILL EATING TO 80% FULL HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT?
The best reason to stop eating at 80% fullness is to prevent overeating. Without thinking we usually eat until we are full or stuffed, which is a very bad habit. A lot of people when they eat find themselves watching TV or being on their phone. What this does is distracts you from being aware of your eating habits. Before you know it you just ate way more than you should have. 


In order to prevent yourself from overeating you need to learn how to become aware of how you are feeling while you eat. Try to stop eating once you become comfortable not full. This may take a lot of practice.


Because you aren’t eating until you are full you will notice yourself feeling hungry more frequently throughout the day. I always recommend people to eat 4-5 meals a day this should balance your hungry and curb cravings if done properly.


Tips for implementation

1.  Eat your food slowly. Spend at least 15 minutes eating each meal. This will give your stomach time to recognize that it is getting full.

2.  Try to eliminate distractions like watching T.V. or looking at your phone. These habits will distract yourself from conscious eating, which may lead to you being full by the time you’re done and not even aware of it.

3.  Take a short break after every other bite to give your stomach time to recognize how full it is becoming.

4.  Record how much food you have eaten at the point you feel approximately 80% full. Try to become familiar with that amount so that in the future you can prepare approximately that amount of food.

5.  If you still feel hungry after finishing your meal, have some vegetables until you feel comfortable. Eating more frequently is very important in this situation. Eat 4-5 meals spread evenly throughout the day.
