[UPDATED with Blocktrades' response] Following through: Got some steem! Then lost it. Jinxed...
My steem - eth trade through blocktrades failed today. How miserable I instantly felt right then.

Just like I antecipated in my SBD approaches base peg of $1 post, it's price has nowhere to go but up. Finally got some money to invest, got a P2P connection to send me some steem.
Lost some
Because cycling merchandise is my thing, turning most of my freshly acquired STEEM into ETH was really important. By the end of the day, I'd have more than I'd have bargained for. However, blocktrades was in maintenance! Maybe if I refresh the page it will work, though? Okay, good, now I can trade it... Oh, crap.

Despite the rise of great opportunities, unfortunately @blocktrades failed the conversion for whatever reason - but I didn't get my STEEM back. I'm sure I will, though, their support is great. They're probably just sleeping right now. While I wait, nothing like ranting about it.
In case it ever happens to you, comment on their posts and send an email to "[email protected]". It's easy to see blocktrades helps their customers (Fingers crossed) if the need arises.
EDIT: They're working on it.

Hi,
I would like to give you a status update on our ETH maintenance.
We believe we have corrected the error, and from here we are waiting for our backend to "catch up" with the >transactions that it missed. Our system is currently estimating that this will take another 7 hours, however we are >working to find ways to expedite this process.
Once everything is synced again we will test the system and then remove the "under maintenance" flag from >blocktrades.us, and I will be manually verifying all of the ETH transactions that were initiated during this period of >time.

Something happened with our ability to broadcast ETH transactions late yesterday. Several of our developers >stayed late to get a bandaid solution in place, but it appears to have sprung a leak again overnight. This is a top->priority issue for everyone in the office this morning.
We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience, but I want you to know that we have not lost any transactions. We >will be scouring the various blockchains to make sure of this, and so far in my own efforts in this direction it >appears that our system has appropriately recognized and flagged each of the failed outputs. Worst-case scenario there will just be a little longer of a delay before you receive your trade.
Again, we are very sorry for this trouble, and we appreciate your patience in this matter while we get things taken >care of.

So do I! It's just always tormenting when a big part of the budget can't be used. It's really hard to not triiger the "lost money" paranoia. Btw, jJust edited their response in the post.

Yup!! exactly what I mean. I had that problem poloniex once and while the problem was solved by itself months later, I still haven't received a reply from their support until now.
