There is a few herons at our bay. Not always there on the spot, but when the water level is right they walk so slowly and proudly present their pretty necks and feathers.

We had a pair of Great Blue Herons on the lake I lived on growing up. My grandpa called them "George" & "Georgette" :P
I don't even know if this is a Heron or Heroine :p
Pity they don't allow us to get closer. Would be nice to make friends..
The ones on our lake were there for as long as I can remember. They would get about 5 feet from the boat or dock and we would throw them our less desirable catches :)
Maybe I need to have some fish with me next time...
