Kubenskoye Lake. Wide-angle nature
During travel, each photographer has a set of lenses with different focal lengths. Even if you have one zoom, then the range of its focal lengths is mostly wide. I always have with me a fairly powerful tele- and super-wide-angle lenses (this is according to the classification). Simply put, I have from 17 to 400 mm in the arsenal. And these are two different philosophies, two different worlds.
If minimalistic landscapes are good for shooting on a telephoto lens, then on a wide-angle even such a meager landscape gains momentum. This is all due to the properties of optics: the picture is stretched in the corners, adding linearity. But this just works to the benefit - it means that you need to use the wide-angle features for their intended purpose.
Now there will be another world of Kubenskoye Lake - wide-angle!
These are actually very thin and fragile ice floes. They crumble at the slightest touch.
I'm used to seeing huge ice hummocks on the Sukhona River, the thickness of which can reach up to half a meter...
These ice floes are similar to ice hummocks, but their origin is different. It seems to me that they appeared during the freezing of the lake. This is something like hoarfrost, only more durable. Crystallization of evaporation.
But these are just my guesses.
Both in front of the lens and in front of a man a completely different world appears. Close-up view of such miracles is much more interesting.
Nearby, you can even try to understand the reason for the appearance of these ice growths, but I do not want to. I want to just watch and take pictures.
I am sure that in this place the colorful sunsets and sunrises are simply amazing!
It all seems alien to me, but the locals have long been accustomed to such species.
Closer to the shore, the ice structure changes dramatically.
The shore of Kubenskoye Lake is sandy and, apparently, all the substance mixed up and then froze.
It’s unusual to walk in every place. In the photo, this does not seem to inspire confidence, but in reality the ice is very durable. For example, an all-terrain vehicle with people and cargo weighs about a ton. None have failed yet.
Bushes in the spring will die.
A column with road signs indicating the place of boarding passengers on the bus. The water is really big.
To be continued...

I'm not good at ice-skating, but will definitely want to visit the places you've just shown us
