I Need to Dance More!

in #life6 years ago (edited)

I love dancing, I used to do it several times a week, either at home or in a club. I have been way too lazy lately, like I wrote yesterday, and I haven’t been dancing that much. I used to go to bars for the sole reason of going dancing, I even have a funny reputation in this city, they used to speak of me as the weird girl who comes to a bar alone, dances all night and hardly ever drinks anything.

Wednesday night rekindled my love for dancing. I sweat my tiny tush off in the dance floor for four hours straight and I felt amazing. I was basically wearing just a bikini top and jean shorts and was already sweating after the first song.

I have mentioned before that I have some problems with my lower back and I think I need to strengthen my core to keep it in check. I’m not actually sure whether dancing is the worst or the best thing for my lower back. The type of dancing I do is to a latin beat and most of the movement happens in the hips. It doesn’t hurt when I dance but as soon as I stop and the next day, my back is killing me.

I am as white as a white girl can get, except on the dance floor, there I suddenly turn into a Latina, but without the curves. I need to work a lot harder to make my moves smooth because I don’t have much cushioning on top of my bones. I remember always been really into R&B and raggaeton and dancing to those kinds of beats has always come naturally to me. I don’t know where it comes from, it’s somewhere in my blood.

When I was a teenager, early 2000, I used to watch hours and hours of music videos from the interwebs. Sean Paul’s Temperature, J.Lo’s Jenny from the Block and Rihanna’s Pon de Replay are what have been burned into my mind from those days. When I saw all those music videos, I started really rehearsing hip rolling and that is basically the only kind of dancing I love to do. I used to dance show jazz and hip hop, which are both fun but not that close to my heart. I enjoy the freedom and sexiness of hip rolling.

The funny thing about me is that I hate performing to an audience. Speaking in front of a class or having to dance on stage are one of my biggest fears, BUT, I can dance in a club, even if the dance floor is otherwise empty and everyone around it are staring me. Weird, right? I am never more confident than on the dance floor when there is an old school R&B hit blasting and I’m wearing a pair of sneakers and minimal clothing, maximum comfort.

Dancing is one of those rare ways for me to get out of my head. When I have the right music, a dark club and enough space, I zone out and live in the beat, it’s all that matters at that moment. I know I have the widest smile plastered on my face when I dance because I’m so damn happy. And don’t you dare to interrupt me when I dance! If I want you to approach me on the dance floor, I’ll let you know with not so subtle hints.

Enough with me talking about dancing, inserting a tiny clip of me actually doing it. I'm well aware that it's a really shitty clip, and an old one, but it's best I can do for now. I was gonna shoot a new one today but my back is still killing me from Wednesday.

Let me know if you want more ass shaking from me in the future!

You should of come to lovebox!! I trump your four with 7&1/2 hours bring it

You dance!?

24/7 , 7 days a week, 365 check back on my blog later and I’ll upload something just for you hehe

OOh, I'm intrigued!

Now THIS is the kind of addition to your posts that could take you to the next level. If you could do these moves, you are talented. Subtle hip movements to that music is not easy. And it is SOOOO sexy watching someone who is into the music/dancing who is also a great dancer. You could go so many different ways with the dancing theme.
Don't get me wrong either. Your posts are at the top of my favorites on steemit. I already look forward to your posts and your way of viewing life. This could be a good challenge for you.

Thank you! :) I would really like to do more something along these lines, but videography is a whole different art form, which I know nothing about, and then there is the copyright issues, which i already broke by using Rihannas song on my video.

The music issue would be solved if you could find suitable music right here on steemit. Im sure someone would let you use the music without strings, just to get their music out there. DSound, MSPwaves and others would be worth checking out. Possibilities?

There are a lot of different channels on YouTube too, who are only posting copyright free music, and it's quality music too :)
Additionally there are paid services out there too ^^

Yaaas! Dance your heart out ❤️ Twerk twerk!

Always! Though I wouldn’t call this twerking because I have no junk in the trunk to twerk with😅😂

Hi eve. Would love to watch the reaction of the people watching you on the dance floor. I would find that entertainment enough. I can imagine them saying here is that crazy girl again. If you enjoy it I am glad you don't care.

Slothing to THAT... and now your back hurts... YA THINK?! Lol

Pain for what you enjoy is worth it though. What you're into is healthy and not hurting anyone... I say carry on! :)

Haha yeah no surprise there, but it was all worth it! I just need to keep doing this more regularly and I think my back will get more used to it.

Practise define success

Yes, for sure!

You go girl! :) With those dancing skills you are probably bound to like african music, hip moving is the base of most african dances! By the way, is there a Salsa scene in Finland?

I actually think there is a fairly big salsa scene in Finland, I even went to couple little classes last spring, but the couple dancing is really not my thing.

Haven't dance in a while, but love salsa. If I ever visit Finland, I'll be sure to check it out :)

I can definitely relate to the white girl dancing like anything but a white girl .... I grew up in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood.... growing up being called blancita most of my life ... being surrounded by 💃🏻 salsa ... bachata .... reggae.... In addition to growing up first general American with parents that insisted we learned our cultural dances ....lol

I don’t know if blancita is used in a good or bad way, but I think it sounds cute! I grew up in a small village and town where there was only white people so I have no idea how I got infected with the latin dance gene so young 😂😅

Little white girl .... it was used as both ... depending on the situation.... lol
