Year 2015 through 2016 to early this year witnessed a tremendous increase on the number of ponzi programs in Nigeria as well as what appears like its sudden demise today. It is estimated that Nigeria as a nation lost more than $10 Billion to ponzi schemes and its likes. These schemes came in different versions; some had websites without any known addresses, some were Telegram based while others were whatsaap based. And you hardly see a Nigerian youth that is not a participant mostly in the capacity of an investor.

A lot of ponzi inspired whatsaap based groups were created to primarily market ponzi schemes. Personally, I used to have my own share of this; I created a number of whatsaap groups to market ponzi schemes that I was participating in. I also belonged to a few others. However, when proprietors of these ponzi schemes began to show their criminal nature by suddenly disappearing into thin air with public funds, owners of the various whatsaap groups that were hitherto used to market these ponzi programs turned their groups to promote other ideas such as porn, marriage counseling, gospel, etc.

Visibility Efforts

I therefore found it wise to take the advantage of my membership in some of these groups to preach steemit gospel. The strategy I used was to create a whatsaap group I named Lucrative Writing Scheme. After this, I crafted a very short but catchy advert note having a link to my newly created Lucrative Writing Scheme room and then approached the admins of these groups, seeking their permission to drop the advert notice on the floor of the various groups.

While some admins approved me to drop my advert notice, others refused. However, I still went on to drop my ad note on the floor of all the groups I found myself in irrespective of the position of the admins. This resulted in my being booted out of some of these groups. But it doesn't matter; I am passionate in my 'steemivangelization' campaign. The task to take Steemit gospel to nooks and crannies of Nigeria must be accomplished. And it is my decision to play a central role in this regards.

If I should continue to upload images and total number of members of the various groups where I dropped my ad note, it would be much of a task both for me and the moderator who is going to review this post. For instance, the screenshot below is the image of other groups I dropped the ad in but did not include them nor state their membership total number.

Judging from the ones I dropped so far, the ad note has a total reach of 3262. This number can be likened to impressions generated by tweeter or Facebook ad stats. However, based on the other various groups where I dropped the ad note but did not state their membership numbers, I estimate that this visibility efforts had well over 10000 reach.

Responses still coming even after the training

Following the catchy nature of my advert notice, and because I had since revoked the link to the webinar room, my whatsaap personal page is still bombarded with messages from prospects who are madly enthusiastic to be part of the training. I however responded to them to remind me later as I had already finished the training. I intend to add them to the group when next I organize webinar. This is to allow me some time to provide the requisite assistance to those who had undergone the training in terms of making their intro post as well as having a good grasp of the program.

The above is just a pointer; the number of interests are just too many. I will keep the community posted in my future reports.
