Hello,

We're currently launching a crowfunding compain on kickstarter to continue the development.

This video will be used in the crowdfunding page and also in the application's home page.

We would be happy to hear your advice, especially concering the text contained inside the video.

Thanks

I like the "give an author a tip by simply liking his post". That's definitely what Steem is about and eliminating the awful "tipping" experiences that others have tried before with tip bots and stuff like that!

Why crowdfunding on kickstarter though? I think they take big cut...
Have you considered other crowdfunding places through crypto's instead?

Kickstarter have a great audiance, however we would prefer a crypto based crowdfunding.

Yeah that's true, probably a lot of audience there that haven't heard of blockchain at all and would appreciate it!

Maybe several crowdfunds on different platforms? :)

That's a great idea ! Normally we will be able to run with kickstarter however if it is needed we'll do several crowdfunds to continue developing.

One schould do the job.

I am a big fan of your pursuit to create an alternative to steemit.com but I am going to be brutally honest about my impression of this video so that it may help with your crowdfunding.

  1. You didn't grab me within the first 5-10 seconds. A simple question would do the trick. Something like: "What if we could re-invent social media?" Your goal is to get people curious about your offer as early as possible in the video.

  2. It took almost a minute for you to get to your unique selling proposition. That's way way way too long.

  3. Work on your copy, take a Udemy course if you need to, because it sucks. (the video and the music is pretty good though").

Thanks for feedback, we'll shorten the video, and make the beginin more attractive.

Looking forward to it. Again, I'm cheering you on even if my comment seems a bit harsh. It's only because I care. :-)

We prefer constructive feedback, that make things moving forward.

I found the music a bit boring. Just too much of the same thing...and I agree the video should be shortened.

Point 1 & 2: Fully Agree.
Point 3: kind of harsh statement, but this references to point 1 and 2.

I'll give you credit for using drum and bass. How appropriate for a technology project:)

I understand Etherium offers code for crowdfunding. I was interested in this myself, as well as branching off of Steemit for an alternative Steemit for debate in particular. You may need a smart contract developer to build it. If any of you know someone who can set up a crowdfunding in Etherium, let me know as well please. Message me direct. If you @esteem8 find someone who can build with Etherium for crowdfunding, please let me know. I'll hire them too. Perhaps we could get a bundle deal to get a better rate, after all, two projects is better than one since the coding would be identical most likely. Let me know. Cheers!

Nice video.

I would end the presentation with the world: rewarding...so you have "Simple" then "Meaningful" then add "Rewarding".

I would also bring the reward side of things a bit more to the front of the video. First couple of sentences shall bring the unique value proposition of ESTEEM8/Steemit in front. Also, I would not mention to many obvious things, all the different post catgeories you mention takes most part of the preso, but is not adding anything. People will know what Social Media is. See also the comments by @cryptoctopus, he uses different words for the same thing I try to explain.

BTW, are you planning crowdfunding by asking donations, or will you in the end have a premium model using your frontend to Steemit, ie a dollar value to be paid before able to use your software?

We would like to not insist on the reward side of steem however, that schould maybe be a bit cleared.

Crowdfunding without counterparty,
The app will be free with the possibility of splitting post reward to make an automatic donation in percentage.

But what will you give as incentive at Kickstarter? They usually buy a product and prepay it. Since your product does not cost money, you cannot ask for money at Kickstarter for your product. You will use another model?

They usually recieve a counterparty, the counterparty is a free app financed by people .

I personally have no experience with such campaigns other than money for a commercial product.

Looking forward on your success of the campaign.

very nice, i will support

discover other passion, I think you meant discover other's passion no?
I think its not very professional to dis competitors especially in a promotion video...I also think there isn't enough visual about the actual application itself and some of the wording used could be rephrased in a shorter way.
Other than that, the music and video is pretty cool.

discover other's passion

Yep

The wording used could be rephrased in a shorter way

That's what we are doing

Hope this gets some visibility so it can receive more feedback from the community!

I say this with no malice intended - I would consider getting rid of the guy in the Speedo.
Overall the spot looks like an ad for an all-inclusive resort. The copy doesn't pair with the video, or the music in my opinion. I would go for a 30 second spot and show a mockup of what the app will do. If you have to, draw the wireframes on paper and make kind of a stop-motion video replacing each 'screen' with a new piece of paper. Basically if you're making an app I want to see what the app is going to look like. Simple mockup would do.
Just my 2 cents - upvoted and best wishes to you.
EDIT: Just realized it's a social media platform - I thought it was an app. Illustrates other user's point that it needs to get to the topic quickly and clearly. Your website is gorgeous use that at least some.

The video is more "friendly", the description will contain screenshots and more technical details.
Thanks for your feedback

Shared on twitter if it'll help :)
best of luck!

Nice music and an interesting video. However, a few things could be done better.
The text at 0:29 ("other adventures") is not quite readable right away because of the color choice as the white text blends in with the sky.
Same thing with the text at 0:45 ("Your true self"). ' Your' is not readable.

Content wise, it's great at explaining what it does. However, it doesn't quite answer the "why use it?" question intriguingly.

Thanks,

"why use it?" question

We'll see to clear a bit that
