Selling A Dream
Last year during the last craft fair I saw a vendor selling all kinds of flower bulbs, mostly tulips. It caught my eye immediately as I only have gladiolus in the garden, no tulips so far. The other reason was that I saw black tulips, which is like a magnet to people.
The price was reasonable, one bulb was 1.5 lei, so I bought three for 4.5 lei, which is around $1 or €1.
My dad planted the bulbs in the garden in October as these are better planted in autumn. Winter was pretty acceptable, there was plenty of snow and rain, the weather was nice, so they started to grow pretty early.
Last week my dad told me they are blooming, which made me very happy. Unfortunately I had a busy schedule so I could not go to see them live. My dad has sent me some photos so I won't miss them. I'm sorry for the quality, it's not the best.
It started out great, one had two buds instead of one.

As you can see, none of them is black, all three are far from it. I knew it won't be black but still, I was hoping for a dark purple. These on the other hand are red and purple.
I'm glad to have some tulip bulbs as they propagate and next year I'm going to have more but I'm disappointed because vendors don't take buyers seriously. In this case I feel like the vendor swept up the bulbs fallen out of the boxes, put them in a big box and labelled it black as that's the most sought after.
