Lichen 🙂
Lichens again, what else, right? Lichens will be always a great subject to photograph as far as I am concern. I just love them.
I had the chance to take some lichen photos again and today I'd like to share some of them.
It is estimated that 6% of Earth's land surface is covered by lichens. Can you believe that? I believe the majority of the population has no idea that lichens exist.
Ever since I started to pay attention to these little creatures, I'm keeping my eyes open and hoping I can see other types as well, not just this yellow one that is very common in the garden.
These lichens are mostly on the vine branches but I've seen them on rusty surfaces and even on rocks. However, the most is on the vine branches. I can't figure out why but it seems like that's the best place for them in the garden.

Wow, I've never seen a yellow one before. We have mostly grey, but an occasionally red one! I like the fruticose variety the best. They are just interesting looking. My son studied them in his nature curriculum we do.
Lucky you. I'd love to see other colours as well and take a bunch of pictures but all I get is yellow.

I haven't taken a nature walk with the kids in over a month - end of homeschooling year cram in May before submitting our yearly portfolio. But when I do I will get some pictures :)

Thank you @ngieng, it's actually different from the moss. Moss is mostly green if not dry and it has a different texture.
this is my fave sort of lichens!! I did a macro session with it just a few days ago, tho i had ppoor light and not quite happy with the results. but uou may check it -- pretty spectacular shot of red lichens stryggling with grey ones :P
and I didnt know you provide other colors of the day, except rusty, that I had a pleasure to take part once. cool! :D
