for I am ever so fragile
a soft heartened soul ...
you could actually, easily hurt ...
Touch me not
for I am easily bruised
that's the very reason why
I got me an armor of thorns
Come closer,
look deeper within me
perhaps .. and only then ..
you shall see
how actually lovely,
delicate ...
and ever innocent
I could actually be ...
Touch me not ...

Isn't it true, some of us are cloaked with sharp defenses, prickly tricks and what nots because deep inside such a person is more or less - a softy.
The summer heat is on around here, hence the - softy . Ice cream anyone?

Sort of like the crab, which is the astrological symbol for Cancer. It has a hard (shell) which is tough to penetrate on the outside, but soft on the inside.
My Cactus
that's very nice
I had three of them back then
unfortunately, they only lasted two years
sighs, the red tip started browning and then the bottom rot
I found out, I over watered it :D
they're very pretty though
I hope yours last longer!

I know they bloom rarely and under certain conditions, but knowing Your efforts, care and love for nature, I would not be surprised by the fact that they grow in Your home. Excellent photos :)

no bloom this time though :)
they're pretty healthy and that's also enough

Incredible images of these beautiful and elegant cactuses are a real spectacle
I always find Cactus and flower as contradicting terms...you always want to get close to the flower....but really shouldn't. Hiking in the desert in Western US one often encounters such beautiful cactus flowers, photos only...no touch! :) Perhaps you are right, they do protect the soft side lol love your post!

They are incredible plants, their defenses are very effective, even as a child I wanted to take their fruits, those of Argentina are edible, the cost I paid to eat its fruits were high, my hands were filled with thorns.
