ACHIEVEMENT 2 @emastics TASK: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM

Hi Everyone

Today i will be making my entry based on my understanding of the basic security on the steem blockchain. Security is an essential thing in our everyday operations of life. One of the profoundest thing that interest me about blockchain is that of the security measures it sets. Any country that suffers insecurity will never be able to grow their economy as investors will be afraid to carry on investment there. Our day to day life demands so much security in order that we don't fall victims to many unwanted situations.

Upon your completion of the registration process on Steem, the MASTER key is issued to you. It is with the master key that you get every other keys to your account. Wisdom therefore demands that you should be extremely careful with it so you don't mistakenly change it. Your account is sure gonna be compromised if a bandit gets hold on your master key and you know what, Steemit will not be held responsible for that.

The only safest place to use your master password is on steem wallet so you got to get there to retrieve the other remaining four keys. Using the master key, you need to log into your account, and then into the wallet and get the remaining 4 keys:

Question 1:Have you retrieved all your keys on steemit ?:
Yeah i have retrieved all my passwords. Maybe i didn't really had enough stress getting my password because steem made a pdf file for me consisting all my passwords both private and public.

QUESTION 2: Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

The Four Other Keys and Their Functions

• MY POSTING KEY :

This key is specifically used for social actions, such posting, commenting and voting. just like i had said about this key being used for social activities, you cannot use it on your wallet. Not to worry, your asset on steem is still safe even if bandits breaks into your home and steal your posting key.

Posting Key permissions
Login on to steem with your posting key allows you do the following:
Publish a post or comment, Edit a post or comment, Upvote or downvote, Resteem content, Follow people etc.

• The Active Key.

This key has an affiliation with your wallet. It is designed to transfer money, power up or power down your steem power, convert Steem Dollars either to SP or even STEEM itself, transfer tokens, update profile details and also change yput avatar, and place a market order.

• OWNER's key.
  With this key, you can change any of your keys except your master password. This is also a very sensitive key and it needs to be stored offline.

• The MEMO Key.

This key is designed to encrypt and decrypt private messages that are sent over the blockchain.

Now you have well want to know about the Steem Wallet

In order to transfer tokens to another user, you just need to go to the wallet, select the arrow next to the necessary funds and click the transfer, indicate the username, the amount you want to transfer. Then specify the active key and wait a few seconds. Done!

QUESTION 3: How i plan to keèp my master password:
My master password is already in a safe hands as the pdf format has already been forwarded into my mail as i was advised by my brother @eldecor.

Question 4 : Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes i do , this can be done using the active key, and with the help of my brother @eldecor before i got to read about understanding your steemit wallet by @kiwiscanfly i had already gotten glimpses of knowledge on that . If you have STEEM tokens, you can enable Power up to Steem Power to get more influence on posts and comments instead of trading them.

Question 5: Do you know how to power up your STEEM?
Yes i do. I can use my liquid steem based dollar to power up my steem and continue building my power and influence on the platform.
