How to extract milk from soybeans

Hello great chef, hope you all are doing well. I prepared a healthy soy milk for my family and decided to share the steps I took to prepare it.

To begin, let me share the health benefits of this soybeans and the reason we should consume it.


Benefits of soybeans


  • Soybeans is one of the healthiest legumes we can consume comfortably with much benefit in it.

  • It also contains variety of nutrients such as protein, carbohydrates, fibre, sugar, calcium, iron, vitamin c, potassium etc.

  • It contains antioxidant which helps to reduce the risk of some certain diseases.

  • It also helps prevent some certain forms of anemia in the body thus, preventing tiredness and fatigue.

Let me show you how I produce soybean milk


Ingredients


To produce the milk, I use just few ingredients

  • Soybeans
  • Water
  • Dates

Steps


I measured and washed the soybeans then soaked it in water overnight.

I pealed off the the skin carefully and separate it from the beans, doing this avoids the milk being foamy while cooking.

I washed it very clean and free from any pealed skin as seen in the image.

The beans skin, which I used in planting pepper, so I poured this out in my pepper garden.


I added it to the blender, add some volume of water then blend it till smooth, at this point, I added date seed and blend.

I poured out the paste in a basin, then extract the milk out by sieving out the chaff.

I used a sieve clothe to do the sieving, it gives me a smooth and good result using this method.

The chaff is out very clear and white, this chaff can be used in preparing swallow for soup by drying it. But I used my for my pepper outside.

See the milk coming out very clear, so I poured it to a pot and cook it while stirring to avoid getting burnt for about 20 minutes in low heat.

Soy milk ready for consumption

It is a non diary milk, it can be served hot for tea, for eating custard, pap, oat meal and can also be refrigerate and served chill.

It is milk, anything you feel like doing with it you are free.

It is also good for people of all ages, so you can add to your children food. Children from 6 months old can take it, adult of all ages can take it as well.

Try out this milk and enjoy natural plant milk.
