Monochrome Monday with a Touch of Red
It's funny, but, I have done the fountain before, so yes, it is a recycled kind of photo. But, there are photos that seem to beg to be posted again, in a different way, for a different reason. This fountain, three-dimensional piece of art, is in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, the historical part of the city that still reflects its colonial background. It is the Raíces Fountain, located on the Paseo de la Princesa. It represents the different races that make up the Puerto Rican culture, blending them into today. The silhouettes are dramatic and catch my eye and my breath every time I see it.
Being still does not mean don't move. It means move in peace. E'yen A. Gardner
Buried alive, deep inside my heart?
Where dreams live that I haven’t dreamt, and when I do, I shall never forget.
Today is a great day to participate in the #MonochromeMonday Challenge initiated by @old-guy-photos and to finish it off with #MondayRed #ColorChallenge by @kalemandra! I showed you mine, so let's see yours!
So the joy may touch your soul

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
When I was young I thought the world was black and white, right or wrong, and that I had all the right answers . However having lived over half a century life has shown me that many, if not most issues are more complex than that. In fact I have come to appreciate and embrace the shades of grey. After all this world and this life, human life, is indeed complicated.
The old guy says follow your heart and you will see the greys are not as scary or as bad as you may imagine.
I always love your posts, but I am not always impartial. ;)
Thank you. You always leave such kind and thoughtful words for me to chew on. Everything is never as simple as it looks, right?
I have come to that very same conclusion, regarding life, that is.
Oh, the greys can be scary, you cannot fool me!
Thanks for always coming by and saying hello and leaving such nice words behind. Have a great evening!

No I thank you for always writing posts that cause me to think.
Oh it is as they say, great minds think alike perhaps... Nice to have company on the same page.
Oh I never want to fool anyone, especially you! Yes it is exactly as you say! Scary. Scary deep... Yet I have always believed sometimes we have to slowly, perhaps a tiny piece at a time, let go of good to get to better. Maybe if we taste better, what we thought was good, wasn't all we thought it was.
You as well Sunshine.
Things are frequently not what they seem. That is too bad, in my opinion as I take most at face value.
I always hate to read into people and things. I like straightforward and direct. Oh,which can be a problem!

Gracias por las palabras que me envías en mis publicaciones. El blanco y negro no es mi normalidad, pero hay un desafío llamado Monocromo lunes y publicas en blanco y negro. Te deseo una noche agradable.

Love the black and white images especially that fountain, but your right life seldom gives us everything in a simple black or white yes or no, there are always so many variants and permutations that we have to deal with
I hope you have had a great day

You nailed it right on the head! Wouldn't life be so much simpler if everything had a yes or no answer? I know mine would be? It is all this grey that makes the real waves.
I feel like we have been crisscrossing in the middle of the night lately. I haven't been in the same room as you in forever! :)
Hope all is well with you and Lulu and have you gotten any more news??The good kind, of course! :)
As always, I wish you a great tomorrow!
Thanks for being such a great Guide for #SteemUSA!

Yes it would be so much easier if everything was clear and simple with a clear yes and no or right and wrong but then in some ways, it could also get boring maybe, or maybe I am trying to see the positive in the negative
Yes we have been crisscrossing its been crazy for you and a little crazy for me recently, we keep missing each other, no real news yet, theres three things needed for really good news and two have happened but still waiting to see if step 3 come to be I have my fingers crossed
Tomorrow could be interesting I am going to be working from home again, i came to the conclusion I needed to call my Vascular Dr today and after I told him what happening he wants to see me tomorrow, probably will do another Ultra sound and see if I need a pipe cleaning which I am suspecting I will since at the last scan they did some scarring was forming in Stents in both legs I had been telling myself it was all fine but this morning after about 2K steps I had to stop and rest my legs for a bit and hence the phone call tot he Dr, but its all good Have had the procedure three times now so its no big deal
That is true, merely a procedure now, but, I will still keep you in my thoughts and prayers. And off those feet, would you? Your body is sending you messages that you can no longer ignore... well, in fact, you are no longer ignoring them. Glad that he was able to get back to you so soon. Sometimes it is a little bit of hell-o waiting for them to call back.
My sister just called me last night and she is in the hospital with a few kidney stones, stuck in the tubes, so they had to blast them at 10:30 last night. I told her that she never does things halfway. So I spent my night on the phone with a half drugged-up sister telling me how good health is nothing to sneeze about.
Oh, I love siblings. :)
Yes, life is busy and the it gets uber crazy. I am taking a day tomorrow to go the Shore House for the annual termite inspection. So, probably no cell phone service at all. The only downside to there. Verizon is the only carrier that works out there and that is not even good. Just a heads up. I will be back Thursday afternoon.
Thanks!!
I was quite surprised to hear back from him so quickly had to reschedule some meetings for today, I am taking it easy but I just cannot keep off my feet completely its just not my way, but I will after the procedure if I need it for at least a day or two but thats about it LOL that said I am up early again and most likely will go tot he beach for sunrise, but wont walk as much as I normally do
Sorry to hear about your sister, hope they clear that up quickly and she is feeling better soon
Although a termite inspection is not exactly fun enjoy your break away from connectivity its good to get away from it all sometimes
These photographs are amazing. Was that rain in the first photograph?

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
I sense a haiku bot.
No! In fact, if you read below the picture, it tells you that it is a fountain in Puerto Rico! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

Life is full of different shades of grey (gray?). At least 50 different shades! Possibly more for the really interesting. ;)
I remember having some very .. loud .. discussions with my dad, who insisted (and still insists) that there isn't any grey at all. Either right or wrong, yes/no, good/bad. I think when you sit in that area, where there are only two choices, or two colours, any time there is a third choice - or more! - or more colours - then they all become wrong to you, and that's a sad place to be.
I think that your dad and my dad were brought up the same. Things were right or wrong, it was yes or no and that was the end of discussion
Thinking back, he had a different life than I did, one that did not have all the comforts or being able to afford the maybes in life. I forgive his straight-line thinking and he allows me to be free to live in my own little world of colors. :)
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello and always and forever leaving such awesome comments. As always, have a great night!
