Hi, sorry that I had to bother you. It wasn't personal against you, but I had an issue (still have) with the former owner of the bot, a guy known as @nextgencrypto aka @berniesanders (he'll surely post a reply to this comment..). He's flagging my content and other users content, because he doesn't like us or what we write. This is censorship and I since I'm heavily affected by that, I am trying to get him to stop doing it. Attacking him directly is not possible (@haejin is trying that..), so I aim for his upvote businesses here on Steemit. Arguably with success, although he hasn't stopped targeting me (or others) yet.
As I wrote in the first comment, you can read about my problems with him under #curbyourbernie (you won't find anything under trending, you have to go to "new" or "hot").
In connection with using upvote bots in general, I would stop doing so if I were you. Here is a post I wrote about it. If you think to have talent for it, try the contests by @originalworks. It's about writing posts about new blockchain projects and you can win a lot of $$. Even I got something out from that;-)
Anyway, I wish you the best and in case you find another message by me of that sort in your comments/wallet, then please don't take it personally.

Hey. Thanks for taking the time to explain the whole background of it. I really appreciated that. Thanks also for explaining that you weren't targeting me for something. I was getting a bit worried honestly.
I did think about not using the upvote tools. Part of me would love to earn the upvotes of others. I do get a few, but not many. It's hard. I tending to start using the tools because they were there I guess. It's tempting. But I do agree it goes against the whole vibe of a great community interested more in ideas than dollars. I'll consider it again.
I hope that things work out between you and the others that you have been struggling against. I would honestly love for everyone to feel welcomed at Steemit, regardless of opinions. But alas Steemit is a microcosm of the global community and thus suffers from perhaps some of the same real world problems.

If I do it again, I will explain myself a bit better. It really wasn't against you or anyone else I contacted. After all, I'm a minnow myself struggling to get my 1-2$ per post, so I know how damaging it can be when someone targets you.
Besides commenting other users posts who publish comparable content, the best way of getting more attention is more SP, because users see and appreciate it when you can give comments to your content a better upvote. In return you get more upvotes for your poetry - at least in theory. That's why I pointed you to @originalworks: If you do a good job there, they'll hand you over up to 20 Steem to increase your upvote power. I think, that is a good deal.
If you're interested, there is also the (non paid) #freewrite by @mariannewest, where I take part occasionally as well. You can submit poems there too and you will get some visibility there.
But he has not said he is a contest writer. He is a poet. He is free to take any action he wishes in regards to vote buying. If you don't want him to take threats personally, perhaps you shouldn't threaten him.

I don't really understand the issues that well that people may have with buying votes. Fundamentally I get it and the negative connotations in buying your own upvotes, but I also believe in free markets so it's a tough one for sure.
It's a debate that I'd just as soon stay on the sidelines of. I can appreciate the passion on all sides of the debate though. Without knowing the players either, I don't want to pick sides here. Thanks though for supporting my freedom of choice. Cheers!
I clearly stated in my first comment that he can go on buying votes, the issue was a specific bot. Since the market for upvote bots is relatively big and homogeneous, he doesn't lose with switching the bot.

He is free to take personal whatever he likes. From my perspective, it is not personal. In fact, I tried to be lenient by A) warning him beforehand and B) offering legitimate alternatives.
These two contradictory statements, both by you, degrade your already limited credibility.
I'm not concerned with insults. I'm just pointing out that you're providing a solution to a different problem, or more accurately suggesting he give up on poetry and try something else.

At no point did I advice him to quit poetry. In his reply to my comment he stated:
That told me he wants to be seen and upvoted and it implies that he would like to make some $$ with creative writing, something poetry is a part of.
Since poetry usually doesn't too well and more SBD equals more visibility (you can give better upvotes for comments -> more users look at your content) I thought it might be a good thing to point him to these contests, where he can make some extra $$ with his writing skill, which would eventually lead to more success as a poet.
Is this really that ignorant as bernie stated it?
