But he has not said he is a contest writer. He is a poet. He is free to take any action he wishes in regards to vote buying. If you don't want him to take threats personally, perhaps you shouldn't threaten him.

Hi. Thanks for coming to my defense. It's appreciated. Though honestly I don't really want to step into the middle of something here. It's not really my game.

I don't really understand the issues that well that people may have with buying votes. Fundamentally I get it and the negative connotations in buying your own upvotes, but I also believe in free markets so it's a tough one for sure.

It's a debate that I'd just as soon stay on the sidelines of. I can appreciate the passion on all sides of the debate though. Without knowing the players either, I don't want to pick sides here. Thanks though for supporting my freedom of choice. Cheers!

He is free to take any action he wishes in regards to vote buying.

I clearly stated in my first comment that he can go on buying votes, the issue was a specific bot. Since the market for upvote bots is relatively big and homogeneous, he doesn't lose with switching the bot.

But he has not said he is a contest writer. He is a poet.

Do you think I insulted him with that suggestion?

If you don't want him to take threats personally, perhaps you shouldn't threaten him.

He is free to take personal whatever he likes. From my perspective, it is not personal. In fact, I tried to be lenient by A) warning him beforehand and B) offering legitimate alternatives.

In connection with using upvote bots in general, I would stop doing so if I were you.

the issue was a specific bot

These two contradictory statements, both by you, degrade your already limited credibility.

I'm not concerned with insults. I'm just pointing out that you're providing a solution to a different problem, or more accurately suggesting he give up on poetry and try something else.

In fact, I tried to be lenient by A) warning him beforehand and B) offering legitimate alternatives.

LOL, you're just as bad as the injustice you claim to be fighting against.

These two contradictory statements, both by you, degrade your already limited credibility.

Not sure if you just want to attack me for the sake of attacking, because I have stated my opinion quite clearly. Anyway, here's the summary:

  1. I don't have a problem with him using bots in general.
  2. I only have (or had..) a problem with him using a specific bot (there are many others)
  3. I personally cam to the conclusion that bots are a lousy deal, which is why I stopped using them and recommend others to do the same.

Not sure, where you find the inconsistency here...

I'm just pointing out that you're providing a solution to a different problem, or more accurately suggesting he give up on poetry and try something else.

At no point did I advice him to quit poetry. In his reply to my comment he stated:

I'm just trying my best to get by and get appreciated like anyone else here on Steemit.

That told me he wants to be seen and upvoted and it implies that he would like to make some $$ with creative writing, something poetry is a part of.

Since poetry usually doesn't too well and more SBD equals more visibility (you can give better upvotes for comments -> more users look at your content) I thought it might be a good thing to point him to these contests, where he can make some extra $$ with his writing skill, which would eventually lead to more success as a poet.

Is this really that ignorant as bernie stated it?
