This is a surreal piece I was inspired to do early on in 2017 for a Steemit challenge/contest

It was a foray into more surreal ideals and really, in many ways, helped to move me towards my Singularity series. A series I hope to return to once I have set up my new studio here in England.

When I made this piece I wanted to give it a feeling of light shining through. I was definitely influenced by the amazing glass paintings by our fellow Steemian @reinhard-schmid, whose wonderful surreal work always has that shine and light, even when simply seen as photos online.

When I was deciding what piece to share today, as I am packing up from yet another airbnb with no ability to create a new piece, I decided on this one. It was partially due to the lovely photos I have been getting of church windows. One could spend a year or more simply touring the churches of England.

I'll share these two from the church at Rye. This first is from Edward Burne-Jones, one of my favourite pre raphaelite.

And another wonderful piece, whose light and colour just amazes and one stands in awe of it in the great nave of the church.

Well, today we are off to sign paper work. I am still not getting excited until that is done and there are keys in our hands. When that happens I shall finally post about it. However, as we are just going in today, into an empty house (we wanted unfurnished) we may be without internet for a day or two, so I hope I won't fall too far behind here on Steemit.

My friends have a large container en route from America (most likely mid-Atlantic crossing at this point) that will arrive with some things for them. Until then, we have been book marking antique shops and auctions in the hopes to eventually get things to fill our rooms. Until then, we ordered pillows and duvets and air mattresses and sheets from amazon to be delivered to our current airbnb. We are an odd sort of nomad, willing to rough it to a point.

I hope the next time I shall be writing from our new home.
