Eager To Spend More Money On The Same Old Foreign Policy
The Senate will soon be voting on a budget deal for 2020 that's set to allocate over $730 billion to defense spending.
Recent surveys indicate that many people in the United States don't agree that spending needs to be increased for defense.
Military spending has been steadily increasing, with the funds being deemed more than necessary by current leaders. But is it? Spending trillions of dollars on the current foreign policy that the United States continues with is detrimental in many ways, making it a risky investment and not to mention, the amount that gets spent is wildly unjustified. If we were to fund these efforts voluntarily we would soon see how quickly people don't feel it's worth the dollars spent.
Overall, the recently passed legislation is supposed to increase federal spending by hundreds of billions of dollars and suspend the debt ceiling for two years.
The push to see it approved was considered a bi-partisan effort, and it still needs to be passed by the Senate and eventually signed by the president.
Defense stocks, including those like Lockheed Martin, have sure been winning big for the past couple of years, as we've seen political figures change. Those stocks are considered to obviously continue receiving "healthy funding" so long as the US presses forward with the same old foreign policy that it has for years.
