Lockheed Martin Looking To Blockchain Technology For Cybersecurity

in #blockchain7 years ago (edited)

Lockheed Martin is regarded as the largest defense contractor in the world and they just recently employed Guardtime Federal in order to provide them with cyber security using blockchain technology.

Guardtime is a software security company that is described as the world's largest blockchain company by revenue and they have been successful in developing a digital signature system that is based on blockchain technology.

This will be the first US defense contractor that is moving forward to adopt blockchain technology as part of their security approach.

The company has said that the blockchain technology will allow them to realize more secure and efficient software development, as well as supply chain risk management. They hope that this will work toward enhancing their overall data integrity, as well as speed-up problem discovery and mitigation.

The two companies are said to share a common vision regarding both of their software development and cyber challenges that they face. Lockheed Martin is said to be looking to implement Guardtime Federal's Black Lantern security appliance hardware that has advanced anti-tamper blockchain based signatures that are used for network instrumentation.

This will only further go to promote blockchain technology with other government agencies and businesses etc. Aside from governments around the world looking closely at this technology, there are also a number of banks and private firms that are also eager to test it out and see how they too can embrace it. This is a revolutionary technology that can provide great opportunity and that is why every individual and business should try to familiarize themselves with it.

I've always been telling people that blockchain is great for security. I hope to be on this frontier with my career.
