TASKS 1-3 COMPILATION

It has been quite a week since @tattoodjay told me about this Quest by @sndbox. In fact, it was just five days ago, and I could see no possible way of completing the nine day task in just 6 days. It would have been easy to envision if using old content was allowed, but the directions were specific that content had to be original, and made specially for the Sndbox Summer Camp. I decided to start it by taking one day at a time, and here I am. Please note that the photography entered for each of the topics is original. I used other images in the post only to back up what I was writing about. Those images are not being entered into the contest. Only the images included in this synopsis are part of that.

Task One – My Photography Journey

In this first post we were asked to write about our journey in the world of photography, how we started and why etc. The task for me was quite difficult – not because I had nothing to write about, but I had so much to write about I had difficulty knowing what to included and what not to include. In the end I did it of course, and the end result is here.

Task Two – Make a Video

I almost did not participate because of this requirement, which is way out of my comfort zone – off the chart out of my comfort zone! As if making a video was not a challenge enough, we had to make it in a crowded and busy place with people staring at us! So, I headed to the buy boardwalk at Jacksonville beach, Florida, and managed to record for eight minutes while totally ignoring the stares of others! The one thing that went wrong though, is that the snap shot I had to upload from the video for dtube, uploaded sideways and distorted, and I have not been able to figure out how to fix it! My video does not run sideways though, I promise! Check out that post here.

Task Three – Take Some Shots

We were given 8 topics for this task, from which we had to choose at least five to photograph specifically for the Sndbox Summer Camp. We had to write a blog post consisting of at least 200 words about how we photographed the images, the technique used, camera specifications etc. Following are the topics I chose to photograph and write about.

TOPIC 1 - Street Photography

For this assignment I used my iPhone 8 Plus, allowing me to blend into the background and become almost invisible. You can find my post shot at the boardwalk, Jacksonville Beach, Florida here.

TOPIC 2 – Flat Lay

I photographed some red sewing notions in my studio for the flat lay topic. In my post I included some past examples of flat lays that I have done. You can read my post [here](flat lay).

TOPIC 7 – Multiple exposure

This final entry was an afterthought for me. The idea came to me as I was creating this compilation post! Coming up with something meaningful for a multiple exposure shot is never an easy task, as it has more to do with creative ideas than anything else. And we all know how we can have creativity block at times! The internet is full of “multiple exposures” consisting of people with trees growing from their heads. Normally, when I create a multiple exposure, I am trying to reproduce a feel for what actually happens on film when several shots are exposed on the same frame! You can read the post here.
