Steemit is a honest and efficient platform! Thank you for money back and bugs removed!
Two days ago, as the dev team introduced Promoted Content, many Steemians were so excited and tried this new feature including me. When I found out that posts older than one day can also be promoted, I thought this could be a bug as the above post did not mention this. So I thought why not give it a try as I really wanted to give my old posts a second chance. But I knew it was a fluky move. So I did not put serious money into it either - probably $7 for a dozen posts. These old posts all showed up on the promoted pages (mostly under specific tags as my money is small) but soon I saw @jesta 's kind reminder warning that this would lead to a one-vote only result. I then knew that my money was gone but felt so funny that I wanted to fool the system but get fooled! It is not big money anyway.
This morning just 2 hours ago, I saw my wallet get refund from the system (actually from @zaebars - why?!) with a memo saying "refund for a post promotion bug". I do feel a little bit embarrassed and moved as I did know my risk when doing these but the platform is very decent to refund the money. Thank you so much! So I have to let more people know this: Steemit is a honest platform!!
What about efficient?! Aside from "refunding" the moeny so quickly, they have also fixed a bug that I mentioned under the first post about being able to "promote" a "reply". They have found and fixed it maybe just a little more than 24 hours! That's very efficient, don't you think!?
Lately, I have been too negative about things going on here, but these actions by the platform along with @jamielefay the Steemit novelist's postive remarks to me has made me positive and optimistic again! Like I once said - "promise a journey, not just a sprint". Come on! Steem on!
An Update! Could anyone who plans to upvote this post check the following post and upvote there instead of here as that post deserves much much more than mine!
Post Promotion applied after First Payout [Bug] - Affected accounts
Hi @deanliu, it was a team effort to get those reimbursements. @zaebars first brought it up on the chat then we started pinging Ned, then I thought of the idea and with the help of @lukestokes built up a list of the affected transactions and posted it on Steemit.
Ned has been quite responsive about it and sent the entire amount to zaebars who then distributed it further to everyone affected.
I too am very happy with the responsiveness received over this.
Here's the post I was talking about: https://steemit.com/post-promotion/@anduweb/post-payments-applied-after-first-payout-bug-affected-accounts
thank you @anduwed for this valuable information and also to those who contributed in this. I get a lot of positive energy today at Steemit. by the way I have edited my post so hopefully your post can get more exposure as it should. I am going to echo to your plead by sponsoring the @robinhoodwhale project with $30 SBD - planning to do that anyway. Steem on!
It''s really reassuring to see the effort that went into returning your money and the money that went to others as well. It would have been easy for the powers that be to shrug it off, but they didn't. Well done!
Thank you for the mention. Much appreciated! I am too surprised by the low attention received by the post which is why I chose to add some promoting budget to it a while ago. (I'm not looking for a reward, we needed to get this out there).
Nevertheless, it is now fixed so the collective effort has paid off which is the best result we could ask for :)
PS. :thumbs up: on the sponsorship initiative. We need to support what adds great value to Steemit ;)
Nice to hear that your trust in Steemit has been restored ... it matters.
I also agree in your opinion that Steemit is supposed to be a very popular because All over the world people are really interested in this platform!
Another reason to believe steemit is genuine! That's really cool, it shows the developers care as much as you'd hope they would for this platform to succeed!
Excellent. I think that there are some really great people in this community and this is just one example of that. Thanks for sharing!!
Definitely true. That is why many people joined the steemit community now. It can help people who are jobless. I keep sharing this opportunity to other people. It is a big help for them and to their family too.
