Tip For Increasing Experience (From Humble Newbie)
I wrote this as a reply to someone who was a bit frustrated by the lack of reaction to his posts. It is meant to help newbies like me who may not understand how to "engage" themselves. I am new myself and have lots to learn, but I do know that the only way to meet new people and expand my experience is to make the effort to do so.
Time + Energy + Engagement = More Satisfaction
As far as gaining a wider audience, you have to realize that it takes time and energy. The more articles you write it will certainly help, but you also have to get out there and "engage" others in a field that interests you . It could be sports, or cooking, or money, or girls,, or cars, or plants or art... so whatever it is, just get out there and follow others and sincerely comment on their posts and you will gain more "friends" or "followers".
I am telling you this not to make quick money (because to make money it will take time to build yourself and your reputation), but to improve your experience as you get more followers (and friends). I try to engage at least 50 people a day and read about them and comment based on how I actually feel. If you are "real" and actually looking to make new friends it will happen.
ps... a great place to start (which I try to do everyday) is find new people that are just starting through the #introduceyourself section. If you realize that many of them know little to nothing about the platform, then you will find out how you can give them a tip or compliment them or simply to welcome them to the community. All people are generally good, so take a chance and immerse yourself into others.

These are all great points Dave! I feel that you and I are right about the same point in our Steem journeys, but I sense the payoff for us is coming soon :).
Thank you @snrm and we both have the same reputation rating, so my guess is you're right :) ... As far as the payoff, of course it is always good to get some money; but my focus is on meeting people, expanding my knowledge, helping others, and enjoying my time spent here. I am confident the money will come with time, but I think it like a snowball heading down a mountain (first small, then bigger, then an avalanche) Happy to be connected to you snrm, lets stay in touch!

The best part is as we all engage with one another the true payment is knowledge, to me that is the real prize! We were put on this earth to learn and teach through communication, no matter how we do it whether we network virtually or physically as long as we are building networks with others we are all on the right path. jmo

Dear Dave I really appreciate your post. You have briefly explained the best way to move on, how to engage people, how to comment, going through #introduceyourself .
You've been right there, helping out wherever and whenever needed. There are some times when one feels stuck up somewhere, and feel that things not getting through, but its well said that ‘if there is something difficult, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, you should try a little harder.
And @charisma777 rightly said that true payment is knowledge. Steemit is not only for money, but for also knowledge sharing. If a glass is full of water we cannot put more water, we need to pour it out to get more. The same is with knowledge, the more you share the more you get.

I am new to Steemit, as well. I find the community to be very engaging. You are correct - it takes getting out there and truly meeting people through commentary to truly build a platform here. I like your idea of 50 people a day. I may use you as my benchmark! Thanks for the idea. Blessings!
