Climbing and Camping In a majestic place in Rhodope Mountains - Day 2

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

I continue with my climbing Rhodope story from yesterday. I split it in two parts because there are too many photos that I would like to share with you in order to show off the gorgeous nature of my country :) Be sure to check out the first part -

The third day around Mostovo and second day climbing was the most beautiful one :). We climbed some routes that ended near the Karadjov Stone and enjoyed some undescribably beautiful panoramic views of Rhodope Mountains.

These first three photos are made at the highest point that we reached through climbing.
It was hard and these views were our rewards :)

As I wrote in the first post, Karadjov Stone is considered to be a strong energy point and in ancient times for the thracians it was a sacred place for rituals. With two other peaks, also ancient sanctuaries they form a unique religious complex. It is actually a peak(1448m asl) and it can be reached through a metal ladder placed on the rocks or from its other steep side through sport climbing(there are equipped routes).

These were probably one of the greenest days in my life :).

So the day started with Breakfast and tea, made from herbs that we gathered from the meadows around us, then Camping hygiene - dish washing in the river 😄

Some learning of new ways to use the equipment.

And it is climbing time. And of course taking hundreds of photos :).

The climbing shoes are something like shoes for torturing, extremely painful!
That’s the only thing about climbing that I don’t like at all. It would be great if we could do it barefoot, since we are going to come back using the metal ladder, I have a pair of fivefingers on my harness and I take the torturing shoes as often as I can.

These climbing days were great.
Maybe even the best! There is surely some magic in this place :)
Thanks for checking out my post!

chic coolness overload!
you go girl!

so why do you call it a shoe of torture?
I've never tried rock climbing like this
Im afraid of heights and at the same time love it
hahaha

anyway .. go on with this ;)

Thank you very much @englishtchrivy !
It’s the same for me - afraid of heights and at the same time LOVE ❤️ it :)

Climbing shoes, especially if you are an advanced climber and you climb hard routes are extremely tight. You feet are just smashed inside in the most painful way you can imagine. Super unpleasant.. especially if it’s hot outside.. I think I cried once because of them :D

Looks like a blast and good to see you have your helmet on unlike the guy in the purple shirt. Not that a helmet would do much if one fell from that height. More great photo's Daniela. I think the one of you sitting, climbing shoes off, is my favourite one. Something about the angle showing the steepness and height I think. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment, @galenkp!
The helmet is only to protect my head from falling pieces of rocks while climbing or standing near the rocks. The guy with the purple shirt is a climbing teacher, he’s a climbing beast, with « safety first » moto and super pedantic. So I am sure that he did not just forget to put the helmet on, there should be some reason.. maybe just lack of falling rocks :D He don’t make mistakes.

Thank you for commenting on my posts and supporting me, I am happy you liked the photos :)

he’s a climbing beast,

Sounds like it! I was only joking with the helmet comment :) Happy to support your work D, pictures are amazing and it’s cool to see another part of the world.

Wow. Awesome Photography. Be Careful up there. Beautiful daisy too.

Thracian sanctuaries are magnificent places! Have not been to most of these places. You are taking me on an adventure with every post. Thank you!

Thank you very much, @alnedkov! Happy to read this :)

Нали :) страшно място
