I once met a young girl whose dreams were stifled simply because of her gender, her story made me realise the urgent for gender equality she wasn't given the chance to fullfill her ambition, this topic " Why is gender equality necessary?" Which I came across is really an interesting topic.
So I will be answering some few questions below base on my own understanding.

What does gender equality entail, and what are the advantages?

Gender equality entails that all human both male and female are to be treated the same way that is they should be aloud to partake in activities that men partake in, such as education and lots more, without being discriminated in respective of there gender.
Advantages are

• It stops the idea that women are weaker given them opportunity to prove that they are not is the best way it can bring in gender equality.

• It would help improve the nation greatly, e.g if women are allowed to partake in education it would reduce the population of illiteracy and increase the population of readily employable people giving them access to education will help them discover their potentials, back then they do allow men alone to have access to education having this mindset that women are meant to do house chores and get married saleing them out just in the name of marriage not giving them the opportunity to acquire knowledge and grow the community I don't say they shouldn't get but they should be allowed to acquire and also grow the community.

Is gender equality crucial for all people, not just women?

Indeed, it is incomprehensible to forgo the issue of gender equality as it is is an asset not only for women but also for men. It is for the benefit of every person in society, as it equally favours everyone with no preference to either gender. To men, equality with women means the potential of reducing the negative effects and expectations that dangerous stereotyping can bring along with it, in as much as freedom to embrace their feminine side, gain careers or other roles considered stereotypically reserved for women. It also produces a healthy relation between family and work, relieving the men from the pressure of being the only provider of the family income. To the society, gender equality improves the demographic diversity which results in improved decisions, creativity and economic development. Finally, it contributes to the development of a more fair world for all the representatives of humanity.

What are your thoughts on gender equality, specifically concerning the circumstances in your country?

Regarding the situation in my country, I infer that gender equality is not efficient. Indeed, if we look at the past records, it evident that all past presidents and heads of state that have dominated the leadership positions have been male, therefore providing no room for women to exercise any and all forms of limitations that hinder women’s political participation and decision making. Recently there has been a little improvement like appointing powerful females in governmental branches, as well as the growing number of campaigns for females’ rights, yet the shortage of representations remains. For full gender parity, one must work to break down these historical structural conditions and grant equal chance at education and opportunities to head organizations as well as shift the culture’s perception / expectations of women.

How to educate our children to understand this issue?

Parents and teachers should make an effort to explain gender differences, use more diverse role models, and change gendered language. Discourage the avoidance of topics as long as they concern gender and give out information that supports gender equality. Promote and encourage them to engage in as many events or affairs regardless of their gender. Facilitate them in considering the topic critically and be able to analyze everything to them. Create understanding and admiration for all people. When these values are taken at home and in every day life, then children will grow up to having a more broad-minded view on gender.
