Weekly CRICKET Review - Lii | IPL

So, after a few weeks of my disappearance, here um back to talk about my favorite topic, CRICKET. You already know I am sharing a weekly wrap-up of what is happening within the Cricket community. It's the 52nd edition now.

Anyway, International Cricket is a bit free these days, with Cricket’s richest franchise tournament IPL. So, let's dig into some details of this season of IPL.

• So, it's the 17th edition, started in 2008 and continuously entertaining the World Cricket. The tournament started on March 22 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

• The teams will be the same as the last two editions. But the captains have been changed which became a huge news, especially after Rohit Sharma was replaced with Hardik Pandya. And Dhoni era for CSK was ended with Gaikwad taking charge.

• There will be 70 league matches where each team plays 14 matches, and the top 4 will go to the playoffs. The top two will face for the qualifier 01 and the winner will go straight for the finals. The loser of qualifier 01 will face the winner of the eliminator (the match between 3rd and the fourth positions). So, it will be the qualifier 02 and its winner will be the other finalists.

I know the process is a bit confusing, but it gives more fairness to the best two teams in the league stage.

• This year's auction was quite interesting. As I have mentioned here,IPL Mini Auction in detail, for the first time in history Pat Cummins and Starc got into bidding wars and surparssed INR 20 crore. Anyway, they still couldn't justify their big money.

• Virat Kohli is the orange cap holder so far continuing his amazing form. And after the long wait, Riyan Parag is finally showing his capability.

• Mustafizur Rahman of CSK is the purple cap holder with 7 wickets so far. India found yet another pace sensation, **Mayank Yadav ** who is delivering continuous pace, good line, and length.

So, let's see how the tournament is going ahead. Who are betting on?
