The Questionless Self

nondual meditation

The quandaries come
From the mind's uncertainty.
Unsettled, it lashes out.
Insecure, it trails off,
Quits easily, and
Lavishes in failure.

The true Self has no queries &
Rests within the knowledge of perfection.
Awareness buoys it; cradles it in wings,
Gently carries it in flight displaying
Vistas that stretch beyond the mind.

Still doubts, fears, anxieties come;
The stifling comfort of depression
Covers man in ignorance. In the
Unwillingness to face the truth
Beings enjoy the self-torment,
Choose to suffer, prefer the
Pain of illusion to the
Death and rebirth of
The personal self.

The fullness of us watches
With eyes of bliss upon our
Adventurous procession, ne'er
Blinking, ne'er judgding, with
Infinite patience awaiting our
Ripening into the questionless
Clarity, the problemless expanse.

Wonderfully relatable, Deep End. Ooops, sorry, Depend. I mean, @d-pend. Stupid autocorrect.

The third stanza in particular strikes me as painfully obvious. I find myself too often wondering why so many folks I know in my life continuously make choices that inevitably lead to suffering, while simultaneously refusing to simply acknowledge the world, or the experience, or the situation, or whatever it is honestly. It is as if truth is too much, too painful for them. Yet the pain that arises from never choosing to face Truth ultimately creates more suffering than coming to terms with it ever could. For once one comes to terms with Truth, it becomes undeniable, and new choices--better ones--can be made, which could (and usually do) result in happier times for them and all around them.

Do you ever find yourself trying to connect with someone who's entire world is propelled forward by fear? Have you found positive ways of communicating with them that allow them to start to see the results of their own actions without them flying off the deep end (get it?) and taking it personally? Would love to have some advice on that matter.

Pain is immensely enjoyable, which is why we indulge in it in a multitude of subtle ways. Including, for example, the need to feel we are right and others are wrong, which is a painful pleasure based in the illusion of separateness.

To answer your query, the most successful approach I have found is to provide a space in which the person feels safe to express themselves honestly. If they feel any sort of judgement, they will become defensive and trapped in their own turmoil. If one comes forward with an open, genuine, unconditionally loving heart, there will be little negativity for the other person to grasp onto. In this way one can facilitate the person in question's realization that they are the source of their own suffering.

Thank you very much for the in depth reply and questions. Also, kudos for realizing the triple entendre of my screen name :D I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thank you for taking me to other worlds in this post, so beautifully written.Your words convey a message, not of this reality. Touches the heart
.

You are very welcome @rensoul17 I am glad that it spoke to you. Have an awesome day!

Excellent. As a student of Buddhism who has been practicing meditation for many years, this speaks to me. Very nicely written, my friend.

(BTW, you choose great images for all of your poems. I want to offer: if you ever see any of my photos that you want to use, feel free)

I am pleased to hear that. Thank you for the offer, I will definitely keep that in mind. I like to showcase other artists' work :) At some point going forward I want to buy a good camera and learn basic photography techniques, as it is an art form that I really enjoy.

As a pro photographer (I make most of my income from photography) I can offer you some advice on that. If you have a smartphone, start practicing now. 99% of photography is composition—seriously. Anyway, if you have any questions at some point, ask away and I will try to help.

Great thank you so much. I'll keep it in mind :)

We reconsider ourselves in the foolishness of the lack of courage of the spirit. Light is the only truth that circulates in the words of truth, it's disgusting that you have no strength for more and better.
Your free soul is the partner of your beautiful mind in the blissful revelations of your poetry @d-pend

Thank you my friend @dobartim in the wholeness of our shared reality.
