It's quite a bit confusing that all the while my health insurance is only giving dialysis patients 90 sessions per yearsteemCreated with Sketch.

Don't get me wrong here, the 90 dialysis session allocation is already a heaven-sent assistance coming from my "Philhealth" because before that, the money that we use is only coming out of pocket, no health insurance to cover the cost and my family is just clueless on how it works nor we ever had any experience in using such insurances before that and for one thing it is not part of my family's budget too.

And so I thought that There was a sort of "Memo" that was given to my hospital from the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) in giving the dialysis patients 144 dialysis sessions per year where in fact there was none. It is because I heard it from the secretary herself when conversing about that topic because there was a patient which is already used his dialysis allocation, well almost because he only have three sessions left before he would pay cash for the next succeeding sessions.

Anyway, I heard that my hospital was not receiving a "Memo" yet for that supposedly 144 sessions this year and yet there was already a planned 156 sessions which would supposedly be given in the coming month of August. It will then mean that the allocation would jump from 90 to 156? While the 144 allocation is not in play yet? or it was only for my hospital? That is why I am a bit worried once my allocations are all used up because it will only last for about at the end of September if I will continue to go for my three times per week dialysis sessions. That is why we have to avail the assistance of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in order for the patients to patch their need to pay for the next succeeding sessions after the Philhealth allocation is used up considering that I am only using my allocation twice a week only, 8 dialysis sessions per month instead of 12 which for my case I really needed.

However, my Town's local government will supposedly open a new dialysis center. But I am not sure if when will that happen but they told us that by the month of July it will serve dialysis patients in my Town which the mayor said will be a priority. I might go there if my allocation will be used because obviously, the burden will be great for me because dialysis treatments are very expensive as even rich families will turn poor because of the need to undergo dialysis twice or three times per week plus other fees like the "copay", the medicines, emergencies, and miscellaneous costs like food and gas for the transportation.

So I was thinking that if my health insurance would not give us extra allocations by August this year, and even if they do if they would not give the all important "memo" to make my hospital to go ahead and use the 156 sessions for the dialysis patients, it will turn quiet or most probably more patients will get so burdened where to get some money to pay for their succeeding dialysis sessions, may God have mercy on us.
